great job shutting down a strong offense so far. but, I feel like going past the 6th usually spells trouble for ERod, so I would pull him now. Nothing wrong with being a good 6 inning pitcher in this day and age. hopefully we can get him a couple more here.

Devers is the Red Sox offense nowadays. What a great career he's going to have.

Whew !!!!! that had my heart pumpin Yeah it was a blast, I thought Marty was going to be one of those rich schmarmy bastards that feel like they're superior to the world, but he was so down to earth and didn't hesitate to smile and take pictures with vets after a 15hr day on the water. He was also cool as just a hang out enjoy the beauty of the day and the ocean... When we were on the water. Really a great and funny guy. Edit: oops meant to quote the post that was about Garrett being a great 2nd baseman.

Jeez, after the first inning where ERod's changeup absolutely blew, it's now the best it's looked all season.

Erod is really baring down and grinding here. Not to jinx him, but this is the kind of thing that could separate him from being a great pitcher or just a good innings eater.

We get that from ERod a bunch of times in this half.....outlook is improved. Congrats to him on a great start.

This was one of the best games of ERod’s career. Seven excellent innings against a very dangerous lineup.

Benny almost made two really good looking catches, but it would probably help to get a good jump on balls...

You can see in the video, he's even moving before Benny is and the ball is not even hit to him lol

Repetition... I think what they're saying about Duran in the minors is that he doesn't get great jumps, but the spped makes up for it. The more experience he gets he'll read the ball better and be a very good outfielder. I would suppose Benny will get better over time too, but his bat is major League ready, which is why he's in Boston. I gather that it's both a genetic gift (JBJ) and learned over experience...

I remember Mike Greenwell used to be a hack defensively in LF when he first came up, but by the time he was done in Boston he had learned Fenway's quirks, the wall, etc. He became a good defender with reps and working with former LF'ders.. Experience

He may be playing out of position in LF, however he is not as good defensively to bump JBJ or Mookie of CF or RF. He would improve by working more of the defensive side of his game,
