Apparently Stroman threw a complete tantrum after he was traded to the Mets.

Apparently Stroman threw a complete tantrum after he was traded to the Mets. Not a professional thing to do of course, but I have to admit, if I were Stroman I wouldn't be thrilled to be going to the Mets either. He must have thought he was going to be in the heat of a pennant race. Instead he has joined the circus to nowhere.

Mets trade Vargas. LHP. To Phils.
For AAA Catcher. Stroman is an upgrade over Vargas for '20.

They probably told him he was going to New York and when they finished their sentence, it was the Mets not the MFYs. I'm guessing he was jumping up and down slapping his glove and yelling like he does on the field but in a tantrum kind of way this time.

What I'm getting here is that we should expect a very slow trade deadline.

Ok. I'm still trying to figure this out.
Reyes is going to be a 40 plus HR/year guy and he's only 24/25. He draws a respectable amount of walks. His defense is bad I read, but is it worth it to SD to deal him plus a good pitching prospect in Logan Allen to get Taylor Trammell who is struggling in AA at age 22?
Don't get me wrong, Trammell could become a really nice player, a CF with speed and on-base capabilities and a little bit of pop, but is he going to be an improvement on Reyes and Allen's value?
I think Cleveland made out well in the deal. They get a lot of offense between Reyes and Puig and a promising pitching in Allen.
Meanwhile I think the Reds will probably wind up dealing Bauer away at the deadline next year. Don't think he makes a ton of sense in Cincy and I would have thought that Trammell is the type of guy they'd want to keep - a guy for the future.

I hate it when a "3-team trade" is reported with confusing lists of what each team got, and from what other team, when what actually happened is that one club made a trade, and then flipped one or more players in a separate trade.
In this case, the Indians traded 1 1/3 years of Bauer to the Reds for a Puig rental, top prospect Taylor Trammel (MLB #30, BA #41), and ml LHP Scott Moss (Reds #12).
The Indians then flipped Trammel to the Padres for 5 1/3 years of Franmil Reyes (already a 2.0 WAR player with room to improve), old friend Logan Allen, and a 19 y/o utility guy, Victor Nova.

With a Puig suspension coming, wonder if the details change. Brawling with the Pirates after being traded to the AL ... dumb & dumber.

I don't get San Diego's move at all. Two high ceiling young cost controlled guys for one AA prospect?

I don't get San Diego's move at all. Two high ceiling young cost controlled guys for one AA prospect? I absolutely love Trammell...has always posted a great walk rates and has hit well prior to this year...should be at least 20/20 hr/sb...possibly 30/30. Allen feels like a #4 with his stuff...high probability of achieving that though. Reyes is definitely intriguing but he looks like a DH and definitely struggles in spacious Petco park. They also gave up Nova who is very young but a nice wildcard. I think Trammell is untouchable if he wasn't struggling a bit this year so San Diego probably rolling that all five tools are there and could hit 1-5 in the line up and handle their outfield. Ballsy move but I like it...but he was also a top 10 guy for me going into this year.

Not sure who they traded yet but Rays have acquired Jesus Aguilar from the Brewers. Not sure how they're going to shoehorn him in with Choi, the young 1b Lowe they have had in the minors (is he up?), and the DH spot with Pham, Meadows, and Garcia all rotating already.

[br Faria The guy who messed up Xander's 2017 season I believe. I know Aguilar isn't having the greatest year, but that's a really good deal for the Rays. I still think Aguilar is capable of mashing.

Voit likely out for the season. Yankees might need to scramble for a 1B.
