Rays pick up Nick Anderson and Trevor Richards for at least Stanek and Jesus Sanchez.

Not sure how to embed a tweet, but reports that Aaron Sanchez has been traded.

i hadn't even heard of Anderson, but he has 14Ks/9 and already worth 1 fWAR this year as a reliever. They gave up Stanek but his peripherals are worse. Rays front office is really good.

Wonder who Astros gave up. Tucker? Greinke is huge for Houston. Verlander, Cole and Greinke. This will not play well on NY talk radio.

Greinke will have fun moving to the AL, especially that stadium.

Giants add Gennett, Twins add Dyson.

This board is melting down because we didn't trade prospects for a 6th-inning reliever; imagine the bedlam if we were in the Yankees situation and didn't add a starter.
Meanwhile, the Astros look terrifying for a playoff run. Yankees are the biggest losers of the day imo.

Guys like Grienkie is why it’s good to have some payroll flexibility.

Wow, unless there's a ridiculous amount of cash, that's a crazy haul for Arizona.

People talking about how much the Rays improved, but they still only have 2.5 starting pitchers.

I agree somewhat, but just wanted to point out that Arizona isn't as much of a hitters park as it was since they started using a humidor for the baseballs last year I believe.

Yankees got no starting pitching. No trades in July at all, joining the Angels and Rockies.
The Astros are so clearly the favorites now ...but I still think we have the second best post-season team in the AL. We just need our starting pitchers to be their average selves.
Edit: per the tweet above, the Yankee offensive dilemma is that they have too many guys who lose value against elite pitching. They've gone from bad to worse in a matchup against the Astros.
