Yankees got no starting pitching. No trades in July at all, joining the Angels and Rockies.
The Astros are so clearly the favorites now ...but I still think we have the second best post-season team in the AL. We just need our starting pitchers to be their average selves.
Edit: per the tweet above, the Yankee offensive dilemma is that they have too many guys who lose value against elite pitching. They've gone from bad to worse in a matchup against the Astros. I agree with all of that, and I have to say in regards to the Yankees I'm a little perplexed. They were exactly the sort of team that ought to make a move. They have a glaringly obvious need, for one. But also they're running away with the division with a good shot at the best record in the AL, which means they're never going to be in a stronger position to make a playoff run. There's really no guarantee they'll be similarly positioned in the next few years, as the Red Sox and Rays could both challenge them. They've also got some money to work with and enough cost-controlled talent for the next few years that they don't need to rely on a fully-stocked farm system.

Nothing that's available. Cano is available for 2B I don't think he meant available in the existential sense.
