Anyone get a line-up yet? ESPN has it - Kiko, Kyle, X, Raffi, Renfro, Dugie, Dalbec, CVaz, Arroyo

I'd prefer to maintain better outfield defense, so maybe let JD serve in a pinch hitter role for the games in Tampa. In Fenway, DH him and put Schwarber in LF.

I went there once. It felt like they were playing in an old gym. The field turf was kind of blotchy. No real feeling of baseball, let alone MLB. On the other hand, the hot dogs were good.

Also, who has the Astros sweeping the White Sox? I kind of feel like that’s the likeliest outcome there

They should be sitting Bobby vs Baz tomorrow. Baz would smoke him with high fastballs. Shaw fields better and is more rested.

Listening to the Astros-White Sox game on the radio. 3-0 Astros and McCullers is shoving.

They actually have a decent fan base. They just don't want to go to the Trop. Build a nice park that's actually in Tampa that's easier to get to and more people will go. People say that, but if they moved it across the bay, they’d blame the attendance issue with people from Clearwater and St. Petersburg not having easy access to the ballpark. Forty percent t of the population lives on one side 60 percent lives on the other. So I hear that and kind of agree it's a dumb excuse, but (a) that's why I also mentioned better park - the Trop is awful, and (b) the Lightning draw just fine in Tampa, so maybe there is something to it? I dunno.

Forty percent t of the population lives on one side 60 percent lives on the other. Yeah, it's a dumb excuse. It's a 25-minute drive from Tampa to Tropicana Field, according to google maps. That's not especially far, by the standards of dumb sprawly sunbelt cities.
The bigger issue is that they play in a parking garage that isn't even fun to look at on tv. Why would anyone want to spend time inside of that aesthetic debacle?
Veteran's Stadium in Philly looked like that new football stadium in LA compared to the Trop. Easily the wort place I've ever seen a game. I bet the players think it's a huge downgrade to go from Durham to Tampa.

Yeah I agree I’m saying I’d rather see Shaw than Dalbec at first against righties with plus fastballs, especially on the road. I have less of an issue with it at Fenway.

It depends how comfortable you are with Danny Santana as your only lefty bat available to PH. I'd think they rather save Shaw for PHing.

Dalbec has a 181 wRC+ against RHP since 8/1. How is this even a question?
Yes Dalbec has trouble against plus fastballs. But there hasn't been a pitcher that has thrown him ONLY fastballs and it's not like Shaw has done much at all for a few years except in rare situations against RHP.

Shaw is well-rested, would field better and balance out the L/R split in the lineup better. The bottom of the lineup did not do well against Cole even on a down day for him. Bobby gets some rest and then hopefully by Sunday Schwarber can play first at Fenway.

I had the displeasure of playing there once, it was like playing a game on tarmac. The Trop being mentioned in company with that park is no special endorsement. What's always struck me as odd about the trop are the rings and catwalks on the roof, reminiscent of when the Cowboys built their new stadium and their scoreboard became an impediment to high kicks.

The worst part about the trop is the 8000 fans with cow bells. I had a "fan" ringing one inches from my head the entire game. You also cannot see crap in that stadium. The lights are awful. It's like they never upgraded from fluorescent to LED.
