Feeling good about Whitlock, Crawford, Diekman, Strahm, Davis and hell I'll throw in Barnes.

I'm not giving up a draft pick and committing to a guy for years they have little use for just because they're 'desperate' in April. They're not. Trading for a viable corner OF is going to cost prospects that very easily could be worth more than a 3rd round lotto ticket. I'm not saying sign conforto to some 20+ mil a year deal but he was a very good player from 2017-2020 and had a down year in 2021. If they think he can regain that 2017-2020 form I'd rather just spend the money and lose the pick then the prospect cost. It's not like a team is going to just gift the sox a free OF. I don't really want to clutter this up any more so this is my last post. But Conforto doesn't fit the team whatsoever when they already have a LF that should stay there and Conforto cannot play adequate defense in RF in Fenway. He'd be worse than Renfroe without the assists. That's why they traded for JBJ in the first place. And he's also LH, which makes it so that JBJ can't give anyone a rest other than Kiké without unfavorable platoon problems. All that for a guy that will get over $50M at the minimum. The draft pick loss is fine, but not for someone who doesn't fit the team whatsoever. They absolutely could use a RH RF, not a LH LF.

Brasier in for the middle of the order, I don’t like it. I’d prefer Valdez

Well… a few of you read that.
On the OF, I’d get Upton ahead of Conforto, bad defense or no.

Cora treated this like a spring training game.

I actually get it we’re short on the bullpen, so Brasier actually saves the bullpen by preventing the Tigers from batting in the 9th

Why would you pull Brasier after 9 pitches?

Nah. Pitching has been fine to start the year. Our offense has been the biggest issue to start the season. I doubt we would have thought that would be the case on opening day.

Bullpen isn't the reason they're getting 3 hit today and overall the offense needs to wake up. Bullpen could end up being one of the best in league and they still aren't going to win many games until the offense figures it out.

Valdez is no Koji or Paps, man, but I do like him. When he is on, he is surprisingly good.

Patino for the Rays left with an oblique strain in the first. Those usually keep a guy out a while
