Off topic, but holy shit...31 home runs for Marcus Betts. Delighted for him. Sad for us. Verdugo has 20 in 2 years lol.

I really believe our best 1-2-3-4 with Cora’s L/R infatuation would be
1. Verdugo 2. Bogaerts 3. Devers 4. JD
Verdugo doesnt strike out, Top 10 in baseball, and has hit a career high in doubles. He’s also not a home run hitter so we don’t have to worry about wasting solo homers but i think it’s crazy that we never seen this 1-4.

C’mon guys leave Verdugo alone. He’s very unlucky. How many wHRs does he have?

Honestly, I feel like Verdugo is easily replaceable, but if they don't make the trade then they're likely less inclined to move Benintendi so instead you have Benny and a pick instead of Verdugo. He's not terrible, but he's not very good either. He's a guy who can be a cheap regular as long as you're getting production in other parts of your lineup. I have soured on him during his admittedly unlucky season.

Anyway, yes, he was crazy unlucky for the first month and a half of the season or so. Since June 1st he's hit .316/.366/.440. A 128 wRC+. For context, Devers has a 122 wRC+ in that time. Verdugo's been the team's best hitter in the last three months.

Players get streaky and go hot and cold. I look more towards the whole picture, but Devers has been terrible lately too. I'm just disappointed in Verdugo when they first acquired him. I called him the player Benintendi should have been.
