It's pretty clear they were opening to selling or holding on to anyone last year. It came down to the return. Vazquez got back a stupid return and they did that, and I guess nobody else crossed their threshold. It's gonna be the same this year unless we lose a ton of games in the next month.

So nobody is allowed to vent? We are only allowed to throw verbal bouquets at the Red Sox? We are only allowed to complement but can't criticize anything? Why? Does it offend your sensibilities? You understand these people gets paid millions of dollars so they're fine either way whether they get complemented or criticized? When you get a team playing like the way they're playing you're going to see complements and hope when they do well and disgust and aggravation when they don't and when a team is at .500 more of less you'll probably see an equal amount of both. I sometimes wonder if you take the criticism personal as if it is directed at you, which it is certainly not. Everybody is allowed to vent, criticize or compliment, within the confines of forum rules. Of course. Why do you then take exception to other posters finding the "vents" tired AF? How many condemnations of Kiké's short stop play are enough? How many Kaleb Ort sux comments are needed? My personal experience with game threads is I'm usually gone for the season by June -- the incessant complaining having worn me down & out. And sometimes, in years past, it was the profanity that wore me down too. That is no longer much an issue. But that's my choice to make -- stay or go -- just like it's your choice to make whether you craft posts that add or detract to the experience of the message board for other members. Some care only for their own experience and "rights" to post what they feel or want to say. Like it or lump it. As is their right. So while posters can offer all the Red Sox rants & criticisms they want, until instructed otherwise by a forum moderator or administrator, I feel justified in saying, "Enough already. It truly is boring."

Criticizing a managers specific game day decisions in the moment is not beating a dead horse, sorry about it! When someone criticizes a manager's decision that is fine. When a thread is suddenly full of people saying the same thing over and over and not adding anything that is a lot like beating a dead horse. I tuned in yesterday looking for someday to talk about something and there were like two pages of people just piling on with nothing to add.

I’m tired of Casas getting blamed for these losses.
If the game comes down to one play by one player, your team hasn’t scored enough runs.

Thesis: the White Sox and the Padres are neck and neck for the worst collective uniforms, and even including the shorts, these are the ChiSox worst ever. Thus, maybe the worst ever.

Everyone bitches about Manager decisions at some point. But he has way more information than you do when he is making his decisions. Work load, availability, Who is working through something and what the analytics department has given him. If Cora is as horrible as a lot of these game day threads say how is he employed? Wouldn't that mean that Bloom is also just as bad for not getting rid of Cora? Because Bloom would also have all the same information as Cora.

One at-bat for Bobby? Over-managing, and shortening the bench needlessly in the third inning.

Wouldn't that mean that Bloom is also just as bad for not getting rid of Cora? Because Bloom would also have all the same information as Cora. It's tougher to fire a manager mid-season unless it's a dumpster fire, since you worry about the new guy not having time to build a rapport with the players and hurting chemistry. He's been bad in years past, but this year is another level of bad.
And yes, I think Bloom bringing back Cora, especially when he had the world's greatest excuse not to do so in the form of the Astros cheating scandal, was a big mistake.
