I think going about a 1.0 - 1.2 under slot is the best way to approach the draft, unless something crazy happens. If you combine the slot value for the first three picks, the total comes out to $7,207,900 (without even factoring in 5% overage). If they go about a million underslot at #14, they could go #14 - 3.1 Million Value #50 - 3.1 Million Value #83 - 1.0 Million Value They can potentially get two players with a value of around pick 24 with their first two picks instead of a 4.8 million dollar player. Potentially underslot guys that come to my mind: Peete, Mcgonigle, Head, Stafura, Wilson, Davis, Wilken, and huge gulp… Keaschall

I'd be happy with 2 of Houck, Mitchell, Eldridge, White, Lowder, Peete, Nimmala after day 1. Barring some bizarre scenario where someone like Crews falls to us. That would be 2 excellent prospects.

Jacob Wilson going #6 would open up some other possibilities for the Red Sox at #14. Brayden Taylor has been linked a lot with them.

Rumors of Rhett Lowder falling due to an elbow injury He didn't exactly look like he had a bad elbow when he was going pitch-for-pitch with Paul Skenes in the CWS.

I’ve now heard 14 is the floor for Dollander, Shaw, Wilson and Gonzalez. What happens if two of them are there

If there’s anything we’ve learned in the Bloom era, it’s that the rumor mill is worthless

I haven't seen a word about George Lombard Jr and his dad worked with us in the past (not Bloom obviously though). Seeing as how that name hasn't come out that's my complete shot in the dark guess.

Imagine being told a year ago from today that you wouldn’t want to trade Roman Anthony for Druw Jones or Elijah Green

I'll come out in support of Bradfield. For one, if he ended up like Rafaela, that would be a success for a 14th pick. But he's also faster. His swing is atrocious but I think he shows natural hitting ability. Otherwise he wouldn't have hit at all in college because his swing is horrible. Remake his swing, see what happens. He brings a few things you can't teach. OTOH there are guys who I like more with similar profiles like Santana and Peete. The problem is that Rafaela's hit tool makes him a flawed prospect and Bradfield's hit tool is worse with less power. His best case scenario may be to end up like Rafaela. They're really not all that similar. I was only commenting because others made that comparison. Like I said, remake his swing. There seems to be some natural hitting ability there.

This question makes me feel much older than I ought to, but is there a radio/audio stream of live draft coverage?

Nimmala at 35 is a jaw dropper. Strikeout concerns this spring is the word

I still think that the Texas Rangers will go under slot because of their lack of picks and someone that no one expected to fall out of the Top 10 will be available when we pick.

The more I watch and hear about Tai Peete the more I am warming up to him as an underslot sign at 14. That kid has huge potential and seems to be linked to every team from 20 - 40 so no way he makes it to our pick at 50. If they can grab him at #14 and another 2.5 -3 million dollar player at #50 I'd be on board.

Chris tweeted this and I can’t stop thinking about it… If this is a thing that could be done I would 100% support that strategy. Crews feels like as much of a lock of an MLB player as we’ve had in the draft (at least in the Rutschman/Strasburg tier)

I’m so hyped for this draft. This draft is loaded with bats and we have 6 picks in the top 151. Let’s go!
