Do you think the guy has any idea what he's saying? I don't know about Taiwan, but at least in Japan, English is pretty much compulsory education. So everyone sort of understands it, but most people are just really bad at it.

I assume Aceves gets called up today to be the 26th man.

No 26th man when there is a 24 hour turnaround on the DH, I believe. If they scheduled it for Sun. they would get it.

Shane Victorino (hamstring) will start Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader. As expected, Victorino will be activated from the DL for Saturday night's game. Out since May 20, he'll return to .283/.343/.362 batting line through his first 34 games. Jun 8 - 10:36 AM Source: Nick Cafardo on Twitter

Why is Cafardo filling in today? He's so dumb.

Why is Cafardo filling in today? He's so dumb. Yeah, was pretty disappointed when I clicked the TV on. He's the last Sox writer I'd want to hear on a broadcast. If they were going to go with a Globe guy, I'd have much preferred Pete, unless they are doing what they've done sometimes in the past and dividing it up by sets of 3 innings.

Someone needs to tell Cafardo he doesn't have to fill every second on the air with his drivel. Shut up occasionally.

Bomb fly out for Carp there. Gotta think there's plenty of regret from Mariners people about giving up on Carp in favor of Justin Smoak. Smoak was a big time prospect, but hasn't looked anything like a quality major league player since coming up in 2010. Carp had his own inconsistencies, but seemed to be bogged down more by injuries than an inability to hit well in the majors. I'm not arguing Carp should be a full-time MLB first baseman, but he's certainly a better hitter than Smoak.

This has been an extremely frustrating game. We've had 2 guys on base every inning with 0 or 1 outs, and haven't scored (14 total LOB). Salty's hurt us by stabbing like a barbarian at some solid Doubront pitches that should have been called strikes, and he just hacked at the 1st pitch and hit a pop-up to end the inning. Hanson has looked very hittable, and most of our guys have had quality at-bats, save for Ortiz who seems lost against his curve. Blah. I wish that 400 foot Carp blast got out.

Awful situational hitting so far. Through three innings, six left on base, included four in scoring position. Already squandered first and second with no outs (3rd inning), first and second with one out (2nd inning), and second and third with one out (1st inning).

I know this is a double header but Farrell has to manage it to win this game, not to worry about the pen tonight. Leaving Morales in for all these righties is putting this thing out of reach.
ADDED: He just walked a guy on 4 pitches - and walked in a run and Farrell is leaving him in!?

This is pathetic. Morales clearly doesn't have it today, at all. As in, he literally can't throw a strike. He should have been removed 2 batters ago.

Doubleheader or not, you don't leave a reliever out there to embarrass himself and give up 3 runs (possibly more) on 2 hits and 4(!) walks. This was a one run game before the inning began.

OK, they left a lot of men on base and should've been up 4-0 in the 2nd but the Manager just lost this game for them. Now guess what, John - you have to use that next pitcher anyway. So why didn't you do it before this guy gave up 3 runs. Sheesh.
ADDED: OK, I know it's a tough economy and I hate to see anyone lose their job but Mortensen should've been DFA'd after the Texas series. I mean really, the phrase is "relief pitcher."

Far be it from me to say much of anything negative about Pedroia, but that inning ending GIDP in the 6th was a game changer.
