For you out of towners who don't have the Extra Innings. Sunday's game is on TBS. Would be nice to get the win today and our third straight series win against; NYY, Texas and LAA.

Iglesias to sit. No other way around it. WMB and Drew aren't going to surrender an inning here and there. No matter what they've said I still think they'll send him back to aaa but that remains to seen? And I see no deals for Drew. He's here for the remainder of '13. WMB should absolutely stay in the minors until he shows he can hit. He has been mediocre to terrible for the last 12 months.

Call Middlebrooks back up and let Drew, Middlebrooks & Iglesias battle it out

All Star or not he's really disciplined hitter. Ortiz the legend continues.

I thought Trout had a chance, but he mistimed his leap.
But seriously, how big was it that they re-signed Large Father early? He's just been so absolutely dominant this year, as good as he's ever been at age 37.

Napoli has no idea what he's doing up there.

Carp's been a great addition. So glad they made the right choice and went with him over Sweeney and Overbay.

I am OK with Ks if a good OBP can be maintained but Napoli looks like he is either trying to hit everything out or he just isn't seeing the ball well. Regardless, he is giving me bad flashbacks to Bill Hall's year with the Sox where he was just basically swinging at everything.
He is also doing a lot to convince me that the player he was last year is basically what he is now. No way you can get rid of him at this point but I sure wouldn't tender him or bring him back. At this rate he'll earn all $13M with the incentives since they are based on plate appearances but he's looking more and more like the player he was last year.

Napoli can't make contact at any pitch. Even at the meatball in the middle of the zone.

Napoli's having an alright year, but I'm not opposed to having Nava man first if a better option is not available in free agency.

I don't know how Carp is defensively but if he's not a butcher he has to be a considered as a platoon guy there as well.

And I see no deals for Drew. He's here for the remainder of '13. If I had to guess I'd say Iglesias is probably due for a hard regression. That being said, in today's Sunday Baseball notes Cafardo suggested the Tigers might be a good fit for Drew with Jhonny Peralta possibly facing a suspension for being linked to Biogenesis.

Carp's been a great addition. So glad they made the right choice and went with him over Sweeney and Overbay. I'm not totally sold on Carp. His BABIP is over .400, his K rate is over 30%, and his walk rate is under 7%. His swinging strike rate and contact rate are both fairly borderline-- ie, there are hitters that are successful with those kind of rates but not that many. On the other hand, he's hit for a ton of power (his ISO must be over .350 with the HR today), and all of this has happened in under 100 PAs with inconsistant playing time. I'd like to see him start getting some more starts against righty pitching at the expense of Napoli and Victorino so the Sox can actually see what they have in him.

I don't know how its written in the CBA but I don't think anybody gets suspended without a positive test.
Did the same guy catch Carps & Saltys 2nd HR?

I think that's a good overview of the situation. Carp only has a little over 600 ab's in the majors. I want to see more of him. Been a great addition. Like the way he drives the ball.

Iggy with another hard hit ball. For the folks saying he will regress, yes Ted Williams is dead, he won't hit 400. For those talking about his high babip yes that won't stay this high. But the approach is so much different this year, even when he hit 200 at AAA. He's seeing more pitches and putting up good ab's. Way to go young man.

Did the same guy catch Carps & Saltys 2nd HR? Yup. Fun with sample sizes: Napoli .. April 1-May 2: 122 PA, .283/.336/.593, 42 K (34%) May 3-May 11: 36 PA, .156/.250/.188, 8 K (22%) since May 12: 105 PA, .287/.400/.437, 35 K (34%) So um, better when he's striking out? I dunno. I think he started getting pitched differently, not sure how to hit it for power.
