Hey look. Doubrounts finds a way to throw 30 pitches in the 5th to make sure he doesn't get a 6th.

If WMB doesn't make an error, Doubront ends the 5th with only 3 ER with a good chance to go 6 IP, I'll take that from my #5 starter everytime. I guess getting Will's .199/.234/.398 bat in the lineup is the better choice over the guy with a 14-game hitting streak and the significantly superior glove, better sit that other guy on the bench.

yankees and A's play 2 full games worth, and its Rivera that gives up the winning run (although it was an inherited runner).

I'm sorry. I'm pinch hitting for Drew here. I thought about Gomes but knowing Showalter he'd probably bring in another RP so it wouldn't have mattered anyways.

Bases loaded. No outs. Gomes comes in. The put in a reliever but we move a pitcher out of the mix and Drew has not been hitting LH pitching well. We could have brought in Iglesias also as a platoon option and maximized the splits. I would have done either. Drew did get good wood on it though. Good for him.

You don't run on Matt Wieters with 2 outs and the go ahead run on 3rd.

You don't run on Matt Wieters with 2 outs and the go ahead run on 3rd. I would normally agree with you, but Ellsbury has 29 steals to 2 CS, and has been successful running on good catchers like Molina.

If Ortiz made contact on that second swing he would of hit two home runs.

Joyce punches out McLouth on two strikes, then misses the actual strike out. Would have gotten to first on the past ball anyway

I now agree with the decision to have Ellsbury try to steal.

Ump misses call so Miller works two clean innings.
Now would be a nice time to get a few ob.

Miller has really turned himself into a pretty great relief pitcher. His stuff was electric tonight, got a ton of swings-and-misses from a very good Orioles lineup.
PS: I'm glad Farrell has started to move beyond the one-inning-per-reliever orthodoxy.

Never know how accurate itbis but according to gameday Hunter only threw one strike - if that - in Salty' entire 6-pitch at bat.
Meanwhile, it's obvious Miller reads Sox Prospects' game threads and just dropped some reality bombs on the haters/doubters. Great two innings by him. I'd love it if Sox could use him like that more often (with identical or near identical results, of course).

stopped watching the game awhile ago, just following gameday so I didnt see the play. What does this mean?
"Jacoby Ellsbury reaches on catcher interference by Matt Wieters."
