The amount of equivocal corporate jargon and LinkedIn gibberish in that article sickens me lol I know Bres is a smart dude, but I get intense flashbacks to meetings with current and former supervisors that leave me feeling completely empty on the inside. #synergy Oh S**T I literally start annual reviews with my people in 20 minutes. IS THAT WHAT THEY THINK OF ME? ?? (I've done them for a long time, and no matter the positive commentary, raise, bonus, promotion, etc., I'm always convinced at the end of reviews that everyone hates me. Probably because they do!)

First Base Is the New Short Stop. Also someone needs to start performing exorcisms on the infield. Seems a little late in its life for hauntings to be manifesting at Fenway, but who knows.

I'm ready to start extending 1st and 2nd round series to get KP more time to be ready by middle of the ECF. Some sort of alternate tanking.

I'm finally ready to grade the 2019 draft. F--. Damien Harris is the only guy who made a notable impact on the team, no one was worth even considering for a 2nd contract. Harry, JoeJuan, Wink, a number of OL who never saw the field, a punter who was great and then sucked within 2 years.
See you back on this thread in 5 years.
(I sass because I love; grading drafts is dumb but fun. I like Polk more than many, made plays that made me say "whoa" against multiple good teams. That and Maye and Baker whom I also like is plenty for me to give this one an A)

That dude is chiseled out of stone. I see the safety talk based on body type at least!

I'm happy with this draft. No idea on the OL men but good to have inside and outside options, and I like the skill players so far.

Someday I'd like to see some team name Mel Kiper as their GM. Then we'll see how good he is. Personally, I can't stand him. We saw that with a more highly regarded Draftnik in Mike Mayock. It was a colossal failure. Also I hated all Louis Riddicks takes too. Booger made more sense than him sometimes.

My perfect plan would be trade down go O-line and then Javon Baker. I'd be happy with this, not sure Baker lasts till 68. I'm AD MItchell or fave OT left who can play LT. I like the other Washington OT but he seems to have mostly played RT and I don't have faith either he or Owenau are okay at LT

I don't get a lot right but I called back in January that there was no waiting for QBs. Too many open spots.

Recent history shows that elite athleticism at tight end matters far more than production when translating NFL success. It’s basically a dart throw. You have examples to back that up? Closet recent guy to Tip Reiman RAS score and production wise is Chase Harrell, who hasn't played a single snap in the NFL since 2020 after going undrafted. This is about Elite TEs, but saw this a few weeks ago.

I'm over talking and thinking about QB until Pick #2 is in on Thursday, so I'm looking at Rnd 2/3. Lazar talked about skipping Franklin and Coleman due to failures of Thornton and Harry respectively in those body type not translating. I disagree on the logic but also hate both of those guys at cost. Harry was way more accomplished than Coleman, and Franklin is moreso than Thornton, but they just aren't my jam. I think I don't like Corley because he fits what we already have guys doing like Bourne, and that style guy seems easier to find later in draft or via trade/FA (I guess unless he's truly Deebo 2.0, but that seems unreasonable). www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-s-top-150-prospects-in-the-2024-nfl-draft-classJeremiah WAY lower than consensus on OTs Patrick Paul and Kingsley Suamataia, which is interesting to me since I considered both as #34 targets or pray they fall in range of #68

BTW I watched more Drake Maye film from this year and its really maddening a at times how he goes from an incredible throw to missing throws play to play. Also UNC receivers did him no favors at times with crazy drops. I say this not because I don’t like him more to caution that he is not the perfect prospect and will need work, over time I do think the guy could be incredible with more consistency play-to-play. Does make me wonder how he'd do with two more years of college under a top coach with an NFL level OL and likely Top 10 and Top 20 pick WRs to throw to... (h/t UMass I think)

When they are good again we will all recite "I hate these new fans who hop on the bandwagon. I was a fan even during the David Hamilton era." The Hugh Millen of the next great Red Sox dynasty

Brugler 7 Round Mock ($) New England Patriots 1 (3). Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina 2 (34). Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU 3 (68). Malachi Corley, WR, Western Kentucky 4 (103). Jalyx Hunt, Edge, Houston Christian 5 (137). Sataoa Laumea, GG, Utah 6 (180). Jaden Crumedy, DT, Mississippi State 6 (193). Bub Means, WR, Pittsburgh 7 (231). Mark Perry, S, TCU Corley is lower on my board than a few others (I'd take Polk over him in Brugler's scenario) and I'm wondering if we dip into RB at some point, but I feel the top of the draft here. Imagine, having a "board'? You've scouted Corley, and other 50 or 60 draftable wide receivers, extensively have you?A little snarky there. Because of a long-term fantasy football league where we pick pre-NFL players, I basically have, yes.
