Rafaela does himself no favors by being chronically behind the count.

Who would have thought Wong would be last man standing from the Mookie trade? Looked like a throw in at the time.

Among other things this team for the most part not fleet of foot.

Sigh. this team. Was kind of liking Weissert so far. Of course the situation he inherited never should have been.

I would say Angelos tanked passively and indifferently. I think Henry's priorities are an NBA team and golf. The Red Sox are simply an appreciating asset. So what should the Sox do to get back in the competitive game?... Emulate the Os and passively tank? Spend like the Dodgers and Yanks to aggrandize ourselves whatever the costs? Find and exploit other avenues to jury rig the system? To your thrust, if we aren't winning and if Henry has other priorities superimposed on his deemed laissez faire, how much 'appreciation' will his assets have? I hate the idea that rigging the 'system' is the way to go ...Take me back to a simpler era...o,therwise I have no interest. I would say the grand plan is draft and develop, and try and be smarter than everybody else. I am actually fairly impressed with what Breslow has been "allowed" to do so far. Another bridge year looks likely and hope the hit rate from the farm is high. Problem of course the best players on the farm are at least a year away and probably not all hit the way you hope.

Brutal loss. One of the worst in last couple years. Yes it was actually 5 to nothing Red Sox at one point.

Unfortunately. Tanking paid for the O's. Corresponding with bad owner passing away. Do we know that the Orioles assertively tanked for a few years rather than being just lousy? But if the Orioles have succeeded by engaging losing, do you think that the Sox should do so to compete in the longer term? Are we above this? Looking at our horrendous last September record, could an argument not be made that we employed the same tactic?? We were 8-19 in September 2023. I would say Angelos tanked passively and indifferently. I think Henry's priorities are an NBA team and golf. The Red Sox are simply an appreciating asset.

The talent gap between these two teams is very evident. Unfortunately. Tanking paid for the O's. Corresponding with bad owner passing away.

A couple things: First I think today showed that much like last year, this team can be competitive with mid pack teams and below. Those west coast wins were nice but two of those teams will draft top 10 in 25. As for Cora, I think if he gets cut loose in the next 6 months, I don't think he will be out of work very long. Bailey is the guy they need to hang onto for a while though.

So let's go shopping: Who is available in a trade to plug in at SS, who could provide average to above defense and isn't completely lost at the plate? It's a tough time to make a trade with the year so young. Any salary dumps, blocked players. Who's the dream candidate within reason (ie. not Mookie Betts). play GM for Second Hear me out: bring up Meyer and throw him to the wolves. Get him into town and give him a Hoosiers-style speech where you remind him that the bases are 90 feet apart and the mound is 60’6” away at this level, too. There are no other options out there that are significantly better than Pablo Reyes. And, while I like Reyes just fine, he’s not an everyday player. The team is in a bind and I REALLY wonder what Meyer can offer. Even if he goes back down when Grissom comes off the DL. This angle should be getting more thought. Not gonna lie, a tiny part of me would like this. Fortunately the logical part of me is totally against it. Check back with me in August.

Also didn’t Reid Detmers own the Sox last year too? He may just be a poor matchup. I think he held the Orioles to one run also. Seems to be their ace.

Teams that get three hits in 9 innings don't win many games. Am I the only one that cringed when they talked up trotting Bobby D back out there last winter?

Marlins off to 0 and 7 start. Maybe they will be looking to make some realistic deals sooner than later.

A sweep is a sweep but that is a 50 win A's team at best. Gotta hit with runners on. Gotta hit better period.
