Ronald Rosario, who was tearing up the DSL in a small sample size before injury last year, is apparently healthy again and playing. Grizzled veteran box score scouts still tell stories of his legendary 6 game 2021 season. This is funny but will be a great quote if this kid blows up.

His teammates seem overly excited by his at bat. Must be a regular occurrence or he's the next Bo Callahan.

Conspiracy, the Sox didnt seriously negotiate with Fabian and his price tag because they wanted the pick the following year knowing they’d be making at least one big free agent splash and would be losing at least one comp pick Well they lose the pick for signing Story either way. The Fabian compensation pick is compensation for... Fabian. Not for whatever picks they lose from signing FAs this season. I think you missed the point. The conspiracy theory is that the Sox drafted Fabian with intention to not sign him so when they lost their 2nd rounder for a QO FA they would still have a second rounder for not signing Jud.

Went to the back fields today. Asked at the security check point whether the back fields would be open one the big league games were open and was told by the guy there they would not be. But latter was told by another guy that he had been asked to work Saturday at the back fields so his guess is the minor league games will be open to the public at least on day the Red Sox major league team is playing away games. It sounds like it may be a staging issue on the days the Red Sox are playing at home. I am still not sure whether the back fields sill be open in the mornings at all after today. The people who work there are very nice but are not given any information by upper management people. I asked again for a schedule of minor league games and no one I talked to had one or had even seen one. Same with a roster for the minor league player. Nothing. Today there was one game at 1:00 with the Twins, not the Rays as Spiers indicated. solo trabajo aquí

The only COVID vaccination thing that I can see that's relevant is that I didn't see Chris Sale or JD Martinez's name pop up when it came to getting the vaccine. So Sale might have to skip starts in Toronto and JDM will be absent in Toronto. Sale definitely seems like that kind of guy.

Saving money for Druw Jones. Druw Jones looks like the #1 pick in the 2022 draft which belongs to the O’s. LoL. Then someone should tell them that.

But wasn't Lux only a 2B (in MLB) bc of Seager? He played multiple positions but was listed as 2B/SS in the minors. Not sure how many games he played at 2B but I remember his being listed as one of the top of my head.

Several of those top 20 prospects could graduate so end of season we could see up to (if Casas plays in AAA till late August/Sept) 3 of our very own in the top 15. That would be sweet. An all bat, second baseman with limited power will likely never be a top 15 prospect and I know he only has 4 spots to rise on this list, but for Casas to put up the numbers required for a first baseman to be a top 15 guy, it’d be an upset if he weren’t in the majors. Gavin Lux says hello. If Yorke keeps raking there's no denying his potential offensive output.

This is looking like a hitter-heavy draft. Will the Angels go all position players this time? They can't go the pitcher route again unless they really want to beef up their bullpen arms. There's some really good (college) 2-pitch pitchers right now with very good velocity.

Fabian, who didn’t.t struck out, got robbed by Liberty CFer last night and I mean Sportcenter Top Plays robbed 😂 Rough start, again, for Fabian. 2-17 with 6 Ks. It'll be interesting to follow the careers of Fabian and whoever the Sox pick at 41(?). I'm not rooting against him, I just want the comp pick to do better. It looks like he hasn't improved on his swing and miss issues so as of now I doubt he gets a bigger bonus than what the Sox offered. He's lucky it is only February still. He started out this rough last year.

In regards to Winckowski, every scout and site is going to see something different but it gives me some serious hope they'll get something out of him and some of the push back from this site shows just how far this farm has come since Bloom took over. There's some very solid depth to go along with the big 3 of Casas, Mayer and Yorke. It's a fun time to be a soxprospect reader/poster. It's been a few years since we've had a system this deep. It could skyrocket as only a couple of them will graduate so they system ranking could be top 5 by years' end. It really is a fun time to be a follower. Lots of new prospects to follow in the lower minors as well.

Where's Tommy Heinsohn when you need him? Heinsohn was the greatest on C's broadcasts. Can remember him always saying J-O-E K-L-E-I-N really slow, drawn out and deep voiced whenever Joe would do something Heinsohn liked while with the team. I don't know if you missed the reference but "I. LOVE. WALTER."

I read about some of these prospects. There's a whole another season to play out but I would not be opposed to drafting a HS pitcher with the first pick. Maybe it will make up for when Mick Abel was drafted ahead of us and we had to settle for Nick Yorke. Seriously though, I don't remember seeing so many HS arms in the top 100. A lot of southpaws at the top (more than one lol) as well. Poor example (or maybe a good one, depending on your view of taking HS pitchers early) but there's a Nick Bitsko type in Walter Ford, RHP from Florida. Reclassified for 2022 so he's young for this class. Also plays 3B. Someone to keep an eye on.

I may have missed this earlier but is there an ETA on when Binelas/Hamilton will slot into the rankings? Will they just be included in the spring update, under the assumption there is spring training (large assumption, I know)? See Chris’ post above from yesterday. He said they’ll update rankings soon. Both prospects top 30 at least.

I had that same thought about DeLeon’s hands being like Iglesias’ Just to make sure I'm not missing something, we're talking about the video that's a bunch of Ken Burns'ed photos? I was only remarking on the pics of De Leon and facially he looks like Iglesias when Sox signed him. I didn't see any actual video footage like the one jimoh posted. I don't know how he looks now at SS but Iglesias was such a natural and could've played defensively in the MLB by age 19. It's why I said I hope he is half as good as Candelita. It's a tough position to hit on so the more SS's we sign the merrier.

From that jimoh video De Leon looks exactly like Jose Iglesias when he first signed with the Sox. Seems like he's a defensive wiz (well, "one of the best in this class") from the scouting report. I'll take half of Iglesias' glove/field/throw and see where the bats leads.

"He had TJS mid-April, I doubt he can help much in 2022"FO is probably thinking in terms of post AS break for timing. This looks to be similar to the Sale TJS timeline. So sometime in August? This is also a very Tampa-North kind of move. If Paxton recovers and feels good the last two months (he'll be making decent money rehabbing) then it'll be a good move to pick up the option. But he has to prove he's back and healthy. It takes time to get used to the different feel in the elbow.

If anyone can pm a transcript to me of the chat I would greatly appreciate it. It used to be free and I tried watching it but I was either too late (12:45?) or the "live" chats are no longer free.
