I hope Clay Buchholz' fortitude is remembered. He had absolutely nothing. Totally nothing. He still went out there and got 12 outs and kept the Sox in the game. He might not have been bleeding from his ankle, but I hope Schilling will give him credit for this. I certainly do. That was ballsy. I definitely will. Obviously, quite a lot of us were frustrated with the news that he wasn't 100% (and Fox was doing their best to hammer that point), but his velocity was clearly down. Fortunately, he has very good secondary stuff and he was able to get out of some tough spots. And Felix was very good tonight. For a guy that was somewhat vocal about his ability to pitch in a relief role, he has performed well in the biggest stage in baseball. I am very impressed. Gomes is Gomes, I don't know, but that was pretty awesome. Finally, Farrell is an enigma. He's made some questionable decisions, but, on the other hand, well, he's made some decisions that have paid off in a big way. I hope he sticks with Ross, even though he didn't hit well, and, hopefully, he continues to give Nava chances.

I'm glad that Fox doesn't abuse the pitch tracking technology like TBS, but they could definitely use it more often.
Also, T-Mobile needs to stop with these commercials. They're awful.

These outings by Doubront cannot go under-appreciated. He has been HUGE, and looked absolutely dominant. That rest has really done him some good. Felix, fix those "conditioning issues" this offseason and come to camp in February in the best shape of your life! Prince Felix has been huge.

Not a great game for Ellsbury to completely crap the bed. Yeah, he's been pretty bad, but so has Shane and, tonight, Nava. If they want to win games in St. Louis they need the top of the order to do something because they're giving out outs at the bottom.

Let's see if they can get things going early. I like that Jacoby took a cut at the first pitch.

Gotta love all the Gomes pop-ups and strikeouts this postseason vs. RHPs. Nothing you can do to fix that, I guess. Yeah, it's too too bad there isn't someone on the bench that has hit well the entire season.

Jeff Fletcher ?@jefffletcherocr 1m @dgoold @tylerkepner Apparently no one agrees me except Harold Reynolds. Oh well. I recommend that he reads that tweet aloud. An opinion accepted by Harold Reynolds, and only Harold Reynolds, is probably an opinion worth scrapping.

Great win. Pressure's on Wacha now. Love to get Lackey enough run support to steal that one. Honestly, I don't think a win tomorrow would be a steal. Wacha has had an impressive start to his career, but Lackey has had an impressive season, he's a more experienced postseason pitcher, and he's coming off of a great start (although Wacha is as well). Great win, feels good.

I feel completely comfortable having Xander bat second. I doubt that it happens this October but he's a pro.
