I know Goldschmidt is a hell of a hitter, but that was a terrible pitch by Lester.

Remember when Lester fixed himself and so we didn't need to trade for Peavy?

Ok, Farrell should've taken hi. out after he blew the lead. I hate this whole, "He's is suck right now but let's see if he can get through the inning so we can get him a W," mentality. IIt was obvious when he was at nearly 80 pitches after 3rd that the pen was going to be accessed early.

Can this team really count of Lester and Buccholz for 200 inning per next year? Quality innings? Lester is mediocre at best these days.

People need to chill about Lester. He had 4 good starts out of last 5, but supposedly this is his definition.

You can always send someone down after the game.

We are heading down the stretch with the same pitching question marks as 2011 and that year they had a bigger lead.

If Lester can get out of the inning, he has a chance of working the sixth as well and saving you a reliever or two. You can't just take out your SP every time they start giving up runs, especially given the last two games.

IIt was obvious when he was at nearly 80 pitches after 3rd that the pen was going to be accessed early. It's one of these things managers do these days that theoretically builds a guy's confidence, like never pinch hitting Carp for Napoli when he's facing some righty fastball/slider monster in the late innings. But the thing is, when you make those kinds of moves against the obviously superior tactical options, you're putting the player in a position to fail. How is that helping their mentality? And again, we've reached a weird point in baseball where "leadership" from a manager means never asking a player to do anything they're not totally comfortable with.
