Xander reaches base for the first time... on an error.

In his first AB, with two runners on, Xander hits a comebacker off the end of the bat to the pitcher. Should have been an easy double-play ball, but the pitcher throws wide of second and so Xander reaches on the error.

Not to be pedantic (ok, ENTIRELY to be pedantic), but if the pitcher overthrew second doesn't that mean he reached on a fielder's choice?

Has X-Man ( or soon to be known as K-man) even hit the ball out of the infield yet. And he can't pay third. Why couldn't we keep Jose? Need to resign Drew. K-Man will be starting next year at AAA. For goodness sake, he is just a baby. Let him be and develop at AAA.

I wouldn't pay $800 to have someone cut my moss either, Eck.

Good thing Farrell saved Koji and Workman for today's game.

Good thing that Koji's rested, this game is still far from over, unlike yesterday's game.
Ok, seriously now, why is Koji pitching in an 11 run game?

On an error involving Xander, one cannot assume double play, so the presumption should be that Vict is out at second, Nava scores, hence Xander gets the RBI? Also Drew was denied a grand slam because Pedy was to impatient, scoring from second on the Salty single.

WMB is your backup 2nd baseman which puts Xander at 3rd. A blow out like this is the perfect time to give that infield some practice....I love it.

Are you seriously judging X-man on 4 at-bats? Now that is just silly. Come on, he just forgot the italics. Going so overboard like that clearly indicates sarcasm. I hope.

But I will say one thing: I read an article about Bogaerts awhile back where he was commenting [to his manager??] that he felt as though he wasn't sure he could play the game. Coming from him and knowing that he felt that way during a time when I don't believe he was doing all that badly, I wonder if there is a pocket of insecurity in his personality. If so, I suppose it's possible that if he does truly struggle in his initial exposure to the big leagues that insecurity could come out and really throw him into a funk. As much as we think he may talent-wise be ready for The Show, it's what HE thinks that is important. Not everyone can face initial adversity like Dustin Pedroia.

On another incredibly awesome statistical note, Middlebrooks UZR150 at 2B is off the charts. Perhaps it's time to trade Pedroia.

Koji in the 9th? Thats gotta be Farrell trolling. Astounding. Workman and Uehara in two games that weren't even remotely close, and Morales and Generic DFA Candidate in the one-run game. It's like, how much worse could Farrell's bullpen management have been in this series? The answer is none. None more worse.

Let's hope he recognizes that he's man some big mistakes in pen management over the last 10 days and learns from them. Since arriving in KC he's left 3-4 wins on the field through pen/starter mismanagement. Imagine how much he could be resting this pen if he had 4 more wins on Tampa.
