Who's afraid of David Price? I think my tv is broken, it says the Red Sox have two runs and I've been told that's impossible

Lackey isn't getting any borderline pitches. No egregiously bad calls so far, but all the 50/50 calls have gone against him.
EDIT: he's trying to be too fine with his fastball command against righties. He's missing glove-side a lot-- four or five times so far.

Maybe Doubront needs to start warming.

Red Sox killer at Fenway? Are those announcers nuts? If Molina was such a Red Sox killer at fenway, Maddon wouldn't start Lobotomy (lol) half of the times the Rays play Boston and his equally awful bat.
TBS should hire decent team announcers for MLB teams, like Orsello and Eck to do games. These guys are rubbish.

To get the thread back to Sox/Rays, you know the guy I feel a tiny bit bad for?? Nava. By all accounts he was one of the best players in the league this past season, but he will probably be on the bench today in deference to Gomes because of Gomes' penchant for hitting LH. It isn't as though Nava has a limitless future ahead of him, and every chance he misses to contribute to team success is one he isn't going to get back. It would be nice for a feel-good story like him to cap off a magical season with some post-season heroics, regardless of how far the team goes in the playoffs. Presumably he'll get his chances down the line. Farrell is just making the right move. Nava is hitting .252/.311/.336 versus lefties in 2013 and .223/.307/.328 over his career. Nava will still get plenty of playing time versus righties-- he'll start in games three and four, and if the Red Sox advance, both Oakland and Detroit only have right-handed pitchers in their rotation. I didn't say it wasn't the right move. I just said I empathized with Nava.

They did a decent job, kind of showing up Buck martinez on that team that I thought was an average announcer until last night until he was teamed with them, but martinez was slow with those 2. They out classed martinez in ever way last night.

Some loud outs off Lackey but so far so good. The whole pen should pretty much be available if needed with tomorrow off

Swings and misses:
Lackey: 10 Price: 1.
He hasn't been getting swings and misses for a month, and you can't succeed at a high level in MLB without getting them. Eventually, BABIP luck will kill you.

LOLOL at that strike call.
Is it really that difficult to give both pitchers THE SAME strike zone? This is your job, you morons.

[prematurely composed now inappropriate sarcasm] Glad we've had Drew's defense so far. (Admittedly, the scouts say that Xander is just as good at throwing the ball around the infield in warmups.)[/sarcasm]

DeJesus is being shown up by the Monster tonight. Was he primarily CF when he played for Oakland and KC? That would certainly explain his unfamiliarity in regards to playing the wall.
