Keep us here Koji. Puleez For the last 3 years, almost exclusively, when Uehara has given up anything, it's been the long ball. This could be the game right here. Either the Sox stay ahead or fall behind.

Tigers get a baserunner? No problem, Uehara conjures a double play.

What an unbelievable game. Who would've thought we'd win a 1-0 game on the road against the Tigers?
Lackey, Breslow, Taz and Koji... thats the magic formula!

Big ups to Tazawa striking out Cabrera after giving up a single. Great win.

Did you hear Uehara scream when Ortiz lifted him up? Died laughing It may well be that whether or not the Sox win a championship this year will be dependent upon whether or not Uehara can hold form through the rest of the playoffs more than any other single factor. The Sox need 6 more victories, and Uehara figures to be needed to save 4 or 5 of them, anyway. He's still going strong. But relievers can hit a wall. And he is now in workload territory he's never been before. What the Sox really need is to really break out of it tomorrow and crush Detroit pitching into oblivion, so he is not needed.

What a perfect time get your first 1-0 win during a season! Amazing. If someone would have told me a year ago that John Lackey, Mike Napoli, and Koji Uehara would carry the Red Sox to 1-0 victory in the ALCS, I would have laughed.

Lackey was unbelievable. We got ourselves a nice little thing going at the back-end of the pen right now; Breslow to Tazawa to Koji. Must feel like the 60's for the old-timers with the way the starting pitching has dominated this post-season. I didn't start following until the 70's and the DH era.

Lackey to Farrell when he sees him walking towards the mound: "C'mon man! You gotta be shitting me!" Love it. MLB.com has a replay FWIW
