Pedey needed to be waving that fair as it just needed about 5 inches.

That was the anti-Fisk by Pedroia out of the box there....That can't go down in history, better off foul.

Give away an out, don't execute and hey, they get the DP. I hating sacrifice bunting.

Giving up an out on that bunt - even if it had moved the runners over - after two walks is just a terrible decision to me.

Can Berry not play right field? How can you be a professional baseball player under 200 lbs and not be able to bunt?
Edit- I imagine this is part of what can suck about being a manager, particularly for the Red Sox, he gets slammed for callling for the bunt, would have been slammed if he didnt.

It's hard to bunt a high, mid-90s fastball, which is what opposing pitchers are going to throw in a bunt situation. Which is why I'd prefer they not bunt at all, but that's another story entirely.

If the Sox advance how much do you think that will cut down on Tigers in inning interviews? I really don't understand what people have against these interviews. Everyone on the Twitter machine gets cranky about them, but they're fairly informative as far as player interviews go, and it's not like they're taking away from some other biting analysis. Personally, I like to know what a guy like Verlander is thinking in a situation like this, and he's a great interview. He'll be a fantastic analyst when he hangs 'em up. EDIT: If Dempster were in the dugout rather than the bullpen he'd probably be getting interviewed, but he's really the only guy on the staff worth it. Except for Lackey, who is borderline indecipherable in an awesome sort of way.

I'd literally rather Nava in the lineup over Victorino right now.

Giving up an out on that bunt - even if it had moved the runners over - after two walks is just a terrible decision to me. Yup. Scherzer was a bit flustered. Not a genius decision the have the umps review the call either. Let him catch his breath. Just a bad inning by Farrell.

XANDER XANDER XANDER
EDIT: That's three feet from a home run. It was hit HARD. And on a 3-2 pitch, too. Jeez, what a player.

Will Stephen Drew get another hit in a Red Sox uniform?

Bogaerts hit is probably a HR in most other ballparks. He exhibits a calmness that belies his age and big league experience. He is Wally Pipping Middlebrooks the rest of the 2013 post season until such time that Farrell pulls the plug on Drew.

XANDER XANDER XANDER EDIT: That's three feet from a home run. It was hit HARD. And on a 3-2 pitch, too. Jeez, what a player. And such an effortless swing, too. Just used Scherzer's velocity and his own quick wrists to generate the power. He's really a wonderful hitter.

Four more outs by Clay would set this up
Edit-I never feel comfortable with him out there, something about him, seems the anti-"bulldog"

Win lose or draw, the bullpen is the area Ben should look back on, 9 outs away from a WS and its Morales and Workman warming
edit-Game over, Combo quick hook and another non gut check performance by Clay, now we look at Verlander in game 7

Win lose or draw, the bullpen is the area Ben should look back on, 9 outs away from a WS and its Morales and Workman warming It's twelve outs from a World Series. If it was nine, you'd see Breslow.
