Lackey's been great but I'd feel much better with Tazawa out there. Get Koji up so he can go right in

Doesn't Holliday have a weird sad look in his eyes? He seems so depressed out there. I think he was crossed with a Bassett Hound.

Wow this post-season has turned Tazawa into a ROOGY and this World Series has turned Craig Breslow into an ineffective LOOGY.
Neither one of these guys are capable of pitching one inning anymore. This is scary. It's sad that Farrell has to take this gamble because he doesn't think Tazawa can get thru the 8th inning.

The difference between the Holliday and Robinson ABs were night and day. Doubront came in sharp hitting his spots and a tick or two over his normal velocity this season. He was gassed by the Descalso AB. OK, but he was throwing strikes and was about to face a lefty in Carpenter with 2 out. Give him that hitter then let Tazawa come in to face Beltran making him hit lefty where he's stated he struggles due to the rib injury. Go back and look at Doubront in the 7th. Freese - CB that missed by 3 feet; FB called strike at 88; Good CB called strike; Missed spot badly on 90 FB; Missed with hanging CB but got Freese to G/O - Next AB against pitiful LHH - Goes 3-0 after badly missing spots and gets a gift on ball 4. Robinson AB - Ross sets up outside and Doubront throws 90 FB down the heart that was nutted for XB hit. Again, he was done. I had more confidence in Breslow to get that one out at this point, but I guess it was like picking the best of the worst. Who knows what would have happened if he left Doubront in there.

Gritty.
Napoli has to block that ball, that is not on Xander. This team looks so exhausted out there.

Am I the only one who thinks Farrell wasted Napoli there? Why not switch Berry and Nava around and keep Nap's bat on the bench for when the P is set to bat?

Good job by Lackey who should have had a clean inning. That was huge getting the third out with Craig likely to pitch hit. Bogaerts needs to play more on the line in a no doubles position.

Drew has nothing at the plate. His defense is unexpectedly better than before.

Baby steps, but Drew at least had some professional looking at bats and made contact tonight.

Baby steps, but Drew at least had some professional looking at bats and made contact tonight. I don't think those are good at bats, he is getting pitched right in the strike zone and he's not generating enough power to drive the ball. If you look at his legs he isn't generating any power before going to the swing.
