Hanley would have found some way to mess that up

Without any thing resembling a decent fastball for the cutter to play off, we are literally playing Russian roulette every time Koji enters a game.

Not including tonight's game (where Miley had a 4.07 FIP and a 3.06 xFIP), for the season, Red Sox starters have a 4.04 FIP (13th in the majors) and a 4.08 xFIP (18th).

Just saw a Yahoo Sports report that a fan was seriously injured after being struck by a broken bat. Anyone see this or hear about it?

Hanley would have found some way to mess that up That game is 4-4 if Hanley is in left.

Wow. So quiet after a win. Nothing to complain about.

Wow. So quiet after a win. Nothing to complain about. Blow that game in the ninth and the story line on here would be how Farrell assaulted the lady with the bat.

Thank god for Tazawa. That dude has been so consistently good and never gets enough praise for it, both in the Boston market and nationally. ADD: since 2012, he's 23rd amongst all qualified relievers in FIP-fWAR and 17th in RA9-fWAR. One of the best trade ships at the deadline! Could fetch something really good! I got giddy since that Miller trade Heh.

Wade Miley called Sogard a pussy as he walked off the field. Love it. The funny thing he is right!!!! Also Remy got his best line in of the year... something about Sogard was shaking the wrong hand after Miley hit him... And with the replay Jerry was right... Miley called it right too apparently!

I was there. They took her off across the field. She was very bloody and you could hear her screaming. It was pretty bad. I hope she is ok.

Wow. So quiet after a win. Nothing to complain about. Needing help from the A's D to put up 4 runs? It's gonna take a lot more then this win over one of the worst teams in baseball for me to forget about the Sox pathetic play over the last week. There you asked for it. Edit: I remember thinking "wow thats dangerous" when Lawrie broke his bat but it seemed like Orsillo and Remy didnt mention a thing about it. Did i miss them talking about it?

Nope, they said that a piece of the bat flew into the stands and that was it. Then came back from commercial brake to the delay. I had the same thought pop into my head.

Really cool to see a switch pitcher. His breaking stuff looked tough from both sides.
Starting to wonder just how good the scouting on Rusney was. Can't judge the hitting yet, but fielding is easier to see. He's going to need to rake if he keeps taking bad routes in that big right field. Maybe after they save me from watching Hanley in left they can move him over there.
Glad to see the manager sat Papi and Panda against the lefty. Hope that becomes the plan.

Eh, they put up nine hits, including three doubles, against one of the better pitchers in the AL (and a lefty to boot). Their starting pitcher put up a 6:1 K/BB ratio with 14 ground balls and 2 fly balls. It's just one game, but it was a pretty good game.

They can't platoon with the roster they have. They don't have a righty 3b, so they won't platoon Sandoval and they have been adamant about not platooning Ortiz.

I guy can hope though. I'll take Holt lefty on lefty over Panda.
