For those so inclined, 2 Disney movies.
Abominable was OK, the new Lion King was very good.

Looking forward to this:
Seems strange that they would cast Woody Heralson as Adm Nimitz but hey, Madona made a great Eva Peron.

I just watched Midway, it was well worth the watch. I thought the presentation was excellent, the acting not so much which means they will probably get best actor, actor in a supporting role and best director, I'm always wrong about these things.

Very late to the party but I just watched Green Book. It was one I had intended to watch but forgot all about. The movie was great, no complaints about anything. The music was also fantastic.

Disney's Frozen 2 is as good as the original Frozen.

I just watched Midway, it was well worth the watch. I thought the presentation was excellent, the acting not so much which means they will probably get best actor, actor in a supporting role and best director, I'm always wrong about these things. I don't intend to see it. I saw the version with Heston and Fonda. Even though I am a history nut, for some reason this movie has little appeal to me, which is weird because I enjoy a good "war story" as much as anything.
A close friend's dad was on the Yorktown at both Coral Sea and Midway. I was thrilled to talk with him about his service a couple years ago. He was a gunner's mate on an anti-aircraft gun. I asked him if he ever shot down a Japanese plane. He said he had no idea, even though several had been hit that his gun was aiming at. Because there was so much AA fire in the air from so many different guns, he could never tell if his gun shot down a plane at either Coral Sea or Midway.
He was in the water for several hours waiting to get picked up after the Yorktown was sunk. He said that was far scarier than being attacked by the Japanese. One of his good friends went into the water with him and he never saw him again. He never knew if he drown or succumbed to an injury that he had before they went into the water. After the battle he was reassigned to another ship but did not ever fire another shot or participate in a actual battle at sea. Just a fascinating story to hear first hand from a guy who was there.

I watched It Chapter 2. Not my favorite genre but the movie was decent and well played. The writer pretty much kept to Steven King's style.

I just watched The Irishman. If this doesn't take home a lot of trophies, I really don't know what to say. That thought was cemented near the end when The Irishman was watching baseball. It's long, 3 1/2 hours, but never drags.

I don't watch it much anymore, but if there is a chance that Gumby, Mr. Robinson, Buckwheat, or Tyrone Green will make an appearance, that qualifies as "must see TV." He was brilliant on SNL.

It has gotten quite terrible. But the two episodes with John Mulaney in 2018 and 2019 are definitely worth watching. He was never a cast member, but he was a writer for 6 years and you could tell that he wrote most of the skits. So much better than the rest of the season. Another great episode was with Phoebe Waller-Bridge hosting. I was disappointed with the Will Ferrell one last week. But the Eddie Murphy one should be incredible. I hope he insists on zero politics, since political reality is already a parody of itself now. And that's why none of the political parody is funny anymore.

If you want an action fix, binge watching John Wick 1,2 & 3 works. Never a dull moment. I enjoyed the first two, haven't seen the third one yet. The plot isn't heavy, but as you allude, its pure action.
Trivia...watch the way Keanu Reeves handles a pistol in these films. He was trained by very good shooters for this role. Speaking from experience, this is how people with lots of firearms experience actually move, point, and shoot. (I don't claim any experience in an actual gunfight, but many years of high level training that I have fortunately not had to ever put in to practice).
I don't have time right now to find a link, but I have seen a YouTube video of him actually on a range training for John Wick 3. He is competition-level good.

It's subtle but they throw in a bit of humor into many of the battles. The knife fight in the knife storage area was a classic. Essentially, Wick 3 is WW III and they area prepping you for WW IV.

If you are into Steven King movies, don't miss Doctor Sleep. I don't want to spoil so I won't plot comment but the little girl was awesome.

I watched 6 underground. Good action, humor, music. You may need to replay the first 10 minutes when the movie is done, the beginning gets explained but it's a bit confusing.
