I decided recently I'm gonna be a scary movie guy. I've recently watched The Menu, Last Night in Soho, Barbarian, and Green Room. I've enjoyed them all.
Anyone have recommendations for more modern thriller/horror movies? I'm not thinking of going back in time to the 80s or 90s for now. I've seen and liked other movies in the past like Cabin In the Woods and It Ch1.
Thanks!

It's more black comedy/horror than horror/thriller, but Ready or Not (2019) was one I really enjoyed. You might enjoy it as well if you liked Cabin in the Woods.

All depends on what you like, yet Wrong Turn, Hills have eyes, Strangers, Cabin Fever. If you want really messed up horror Rob Zombies horror flicks house of a 1,000 dead corpses, devil rejects, etc. Yet I'll warn you those are extreme, don't have any young kids around, they won't sleep for a month!

The Witch Bone Tomahawk X Midsommar Smile The list above fits into your theme of recent horror. Also, if you haven't seen the Jordan Peele movies yet, start there. Get Out is fantastic. Nope was solid from this summer. Us is good. Another movie from this summer that I liked was The Black Phone. Scream 5 I thought I'd regret watching but it was fine, and that can lead you into Scream 6 at the theaters. Pearl is the follow up to X. A couple more from the 2010s I'd add would be Hereditary, Insidious, Sinister, and the Conjuring.

I have started making my way through these lists. Thanks again everyone.
I had already seen Get Out and Ready or Not, loved both.
I have thoroughly enjoyed Hereditary, X, and Nope (enjoyed in that order). The Rental was pretty good. Also recently watched Annihilation and World War Z as mainstream movies with horror/thriller elements. I think Barbarian has been my favorite so far of my horror revisiting, even if the third act hit me a little flat. I also revisited Legion, the FX TV show of the X-men character that also has some good horror quals. Enjoying my S1 rewatch so far.
Anyone seen Knock at the Cabin yet? I was gonna keep my eye open for that when it's on demand.

Barbarian, with its third-act twist, can be a bit polarizing, but I get where you're coming from. Legion's an interesting pick, too, with its X-men character and horror vibes. As for Knock at the Cabin, I haven't caught that one yet, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for it when it's on demand. By the way, if you're still on the hunt for some movie recommendations, why not check new movies out in theaters? It's where you can find the freshest cinematic experiences and maybe even your next favorite flick.
