Malcolm Mitchell looked great tonight before leaving with a gruesome looking elbow injury.

Horrible news for three starters on the Patriot's offense today. Dion Lewis needs second knee surgery. Shaq Mason has a broken hand, and Sebastien Vollmer may be done for the season.
Dante Scarnecchia's going to have to earn every dollar he's being paid this season.

This is why I was so surprised they didn't take a tackle or running back in Draft. Our tackle depth is gone before season even starts.

Stork released per Ian Rappaport. Surprising in that he was a good starter a couple of years ago. Not surprising given injury history and inconsistency.
Also kicked out of practice for fighting didnt help.

Stork deserves it if only for spoiling the snap count with his amateurish head bob in the AFC Championship game.

Looks like they were able to swing a deal (with Washington) to get something for Stork.
EDIT - And now there are some tweets (Chris Cooley) saying that he's retiring.

I like the player and if it's for say a 6th round pick not a bad deal. That being said we were very deep at DE, so this is a little surprising. Clearly Pat's think he would play better at DE and not OLB.

That's kind of a lot to give up for a player with one year left on his contract and who has not really generated much (any) production in the NFL, albeit in a scheme that didn't fit particularly well.

Sounds like BB has been obsessed with his skill set for some time. Lot of depth and flexibility in the front 7 (especially on the edges). Intrigued as to how they are all utilized.

Boy, this Patriot's defense could be scary good. Watching Mingo fly around the field last night should make opposing gms very confused. I love the reports that came out of Cleveland that Mingo was "too light" at the end of last season.
This has got to be the best New England D since their super bowl runs in the 2000's.

Reiss reporting that Ninkovich is getting suspended 4 games for a band substance. From a roster management perspective, this is actually good for the Pats. He's gonna miss time with the torn biceps anyway. Now they don't have to use a roster spot on him.

Why do they keep doing that? Do they think they won't get caught? Stupid.
Anyway, anyone who said they predicted that Brady would play a whole half is fibbing.
That's why Belichick is so good. He's so unpredictable. Fake left and go right and all that. He'll leave you scratching your head, but when he's right, you just go "Wow".
Mingo was amazing last night. Nice pick up, Bill.
Defense looks solid. That could win them a few games.
This is probably the most unpredictable season they'll have in years. That's what makes it fun.
Talk show hosts blowing out their brains.

Given that I'm pretty sure a LOT more guys do PEDs (especially in the NFL) and don't get caught . . . Yeah. I have to believe they think they won't get caught.

Some surprises during cuts for NE. Thought Grugier-Hill had become a lock being a core 4 ST guy. Thought 1 of Martin/Dobson would be kept (4 TEs and Amendola being on active roster doomed that). Also was expecting them to give 1 more year to Geneo (Special Teams with some upside). Guess they just couldn't wait on athleticism turning into football acumen.

If Jimmy G. does great, he could reel in a nice 1st round draft choice next year to a QB starved team. ie. Cowboys

I'm not predicting. I'm just hoping. If he does great, it's his chance to make a lot of money down the road. His future payday is on display.
For the team, he just has to be adequate. Their defense could win a couple by themselves. I'm trusting Belichick to come up with something unusual.
Unleash Mingo!

I'm a little surprised about how well the fans think we're going to do in Arizona and the first four games.
