Now one veteran interior offensive lineman and we can rest until camp.

Now one veteran interior offensive lineman and we can rest until camp. Exactly what I was thinking - would be nice to get Mangold to sign for cheap

Exactly what I was thinking - would be nice to get Mangold to sign for cheap I read an article earlier in the offseason where Mangold basically said he would play for anyone but the Patriots, so this seems unlikely, but maybe having Harris there could help lure him.

I've never seen a team so loaded. I think their backups could win a lot of games. I could see them winning SB's for the next 2-3 years in a row. It's win now and win big. In the old days a 9-7 season was pretty good. Now a 14-2 season has people wondering how they lost those 2 games. Their only competition during the season is Pittsburgh, who have 3 stars. But, they have the dumbest coach in the NFL. My Steeler friends agree. What a season. I can hardly wait.

I think the Raiders are but I agree they both are possible AFC threats. If the Patriots are healthy they should beat anyone in the NFL, but that's not how it works in the NFL so nothing will be easy or a given.

Yea I don't think it's realistic but it'd be nice. Although, i only remember him saying it would be hard to play for New England not that he couldn't.

I wonder if the Harris signing will be the end for Freeney. The cap savings is only $735k if they cut him and they have plenty of cap room but unused cap space rolls over and that could be very important next year so every little bit helps and Freeney is 4th on the ILB depth chart and coming off injury and wasn't very good to begin with.

The one thing I've been wondering since the Patriots acquired Cooks is if he can Punt return. Get this guy some open field and some blocks, and he would burn down yards with his speed. This kid is young enough to handle both punt returns and the offense. Would like to stay away from Edelman and Amendola on punt returns moving forward to maximize their production on offense while trying to keep them both healthy.

I can't see Oakland flying all the way in from the Wrong Coast and beating the Pats at home. Perhaps a Snow Bowl II would happen. Carr is no Brady.

I'm going to go way out and make a bold prediction here now before camp starts.
I predict Mike Gillislee reminds us of Corey Dillon in 2004 and that people will be debating whether he or Brandon Cooks is the bigger offseason addition.

One positive prediction: the Patriots have the best running back corps in the league production-wise.
One negative prediction: the defense takes a step back and is more middle-of-the-road.

I can't even begin to dream about one of the very best WR in the league who is also the most prototypical Patriots receiver they've ever had. He's like a combination of Randy Moss with the breakaway speed and Wes Welker who was always open on short routes.
There's just no possible way that defenses will be able to stop this team dealing with the running game, Cooks and Gronk. It's gonna be fun to watch.

Based on points allowed or yardage or just general scouting or all of the above? Last year points allowed was great but the yardage wasn't which is to be expected when you have leads and the other team throws even more than usually etc.

Cooks is a very good receiver, but he doesn't have Moss' size or Edelman's quickness and route-running ability. I'm sure he'll be a very productive receiver for the Patriots, but let's not go crazy here.
Use whatever metric you'd like, but I think their DL/LB corps will end up underwhelming and they'll struggle to rush the passer.

You're selling Cooks short. While he's not Moss, he is a lot better than Edelman.
The DL/LB corps are deeper than last year. Flowers looks like he is ready to bust into an elite player.

It will be interesting to see how Flowers adapts to both a full season of big snaps and being the center of teams protection schemes. The good thing is he doesn't have to face BB or anyone close to him.

One positive prediction: the Patriots have the best running back corps in the league production-wise. One negative prediction: the defense takes a step back and is more middle-of-the-road. It would obviously be great for the Pats to have the most productive RB corp but I don't see that happening with Brady throwing for 300 yards/gm. Will there be enough balance to the O for there to be that many carries? By adding Gilmore to the secondary I don't think it is much of a stretch to say the Pats have a top 5 group if not top 3 to defend against the pass. Considering the opponent will more often than not be playing catch up to the Pats scoring, I like the chances that the Pats D is top 10. I would predict top 5 if not for the fact the Pats will be putting up so many points that teams will get some meaningless scores in the 4th. Also think David Harris is going to contribute a lot. In fact given all the additions to the D, I expect them to be even better than last year. The additions of Kony Ealy and Lawrence Guy are also very good pickups. In fact as a group they are ranked pretty respectively. The Pats front 7 will not be a weakness by any measure this year.

Do Patriots tickets on the secondary markets go down the day of game similar to Red Sox and Celtics tickets? Id love to go to the Chiefs game but tickets on stubhub are ridiculous.
