Do Patriots tickets on the secondary markets go down the day of game similar to Red Sox and Celtics tickets? Id love to go to the Chiefs game but tickets on stubhub are ridiculous. Opening night... Super Bowl banner.... those tickets will always be ridiculous

It's hard to measure production in the NFL without a lot of context. The Patriots could have one of the most productive running back corps in the NFL without coming close to leading in yardage. Gillisley and Burkehead were two of the most efficient runners last year.
I mean how do you judge it?
YPC? YPG? TDs?
Don't discount he receiving game in the analysis either. I think the Patriots will have a top 5 backfield next year but I'm not willing to say by what measure. I think it will be by the overall picture of things and we will be able to make the case for it.
One thing that is going to be way different and way more difficult on defenses this year is that there isn't a guy like Blount who's very one dimensional. All the guys can catch the ball and White has improved enough that he's even a running threat.
They are also a great blocking unit.

These tickets are significantly more expensive than the Texans playoff tickets I got last year. Is that just because people can't handle the January weather?

Tony Dungy listed Brady as the 6th best QB of all time. Makes it a lot more understandable why his Colts teams were such under achievers.

I read that article. He's such a Brady hater it's ridiculous. Even his explanations made no sense. Peyton 4th on his list btw.

If you ask defensive coordinators, they'd probably rather prepare for Brady than someone like Michael Vick in his prime and that's how Dungy answered it, with his top 3 all being a threat to run. I don't think he was in the right mindset when answering.

That's just not how you compare QB careers, someone isn't automatically better just because they're multidimensional.

If Dungy has even 1% of a brain he would know Brady is better than each QB he ranked ahead of him. He just decided to manipulate his results to feed into his obsession of Peyton. I love how the Patriots are so frustratingly good that people come up with things to downplay the success of the GOAT.

Maybe this has been discussed and I've just missed it but - Last year Brady missed 4 games and seemed to stay fresher throughout the remainder of the season and the playoffs perhaps, in part, as a result of the "time off".
Now the Pats have held onto Garappolo when the could have received a real windfall in a trade so is that simply to keep him around incase Brady gets hurt or just suddenly loses it? I'm thinking this.
With a loaded roster there is a good chance that there will be more than a few early blowouts for the Pats this season and maybe Garappolo gets to play the final 20 minutes or so several times. THis accomplishes 3 things 1. Keeps him around and sharp in case of a Brady disaster. 2. Gives him a real tryout to see if he IS the successor and worth a big contract to keep him (or up his value in a sign and trade) 3. Gives Brady the equivalent of 3 or 4 games of rest (and reduces injury chance by reducing his time on the field especially during "garbage time").
This scenario seems to fit with the Belichickian short and long game strategy? Any thoughts?

It makes sense. Normally over the years it seems he keeps Brady in game way too long. He just goes to a grind out the clock style. Not wanting the backup QB to turnover the ball. He shouldn't have that worry this year. Though I wouldn't think 20 minutes would be my goal, more like 15. The final quarter.
The other issue is Brady being OK with that? It's not like he hasn't always played well in postseason and he hardly gets injured. The guy loves to play! So I don't think we will see as much of this as you might think.
I look at last year more of Brady being made. Sure the rest had to help, but I don't think it played a massive role. If he gets a lingering injury. I would like to see him sit out a game though and rest.

Football more than any other sport relies a lot on mindset and energy levels. BB feeds off this and his mindset is a game is 60 minutes and you play all 60 With very few exceptions. I think pulling Brady early messes with this mindset. Sure if they are up 4 TDs to start the 4th he might take him out but really anything less than that I don't see it.

I can't believe that BB needs more regular season time to make the decision. IF he turned down the offers he did, he's made the decision that JG can be the next guy.
We get caught up in the need for regular season time bc it's the only way WE can really evaluate a QB. BB probably doesn't need more.

I thought at some point the offers we turned down would come out, but they haven't. Only really speculation of what was out there. So we don't even really know what he turned down.

From what I gather, Jimmy G. was never on the block. Bill was keeping him no matter what the offer. Having a great back up in case Tom gets hurt is a smart idea. After all the trades and pick ups, you wouldn't want to lose a season like Oakland did last year because your QB went down. If he's the future, then he gets paid his $20 million next year to hold the clipboard. Look how long A.Rogers held it for Farve.
I think Bill knows more than the rest of us. It's not like we're talking about John Farrell here.

For all we know Bill already sees a regression of some sorts and he and atom and Jimmy know the time is near. Maybe he wins it this year and retires and Jimmy takes us to a three peat.

Nink retired, that's a blow. Hurts our depth. You can never have too many players like Nink.

Players just seem to be walking away from the game earlier now. While they still have there health. He was still a good player last year and will be missed.

Opens up a spot for Wise - he was going to have a tough time getting in even though he was a 4th rd pick. I assume he would have but when you actually looked at the breakdowns it was no sure thing...
