The only player in the infield that could make a play that inning was Sale. Devers needs work at third base and Nunez needs to stop playing second base.

Great that Sale struck out the side, but he needs to work on that pitch efficiency. 22 pitches in the 1st. He has barely been getting 6 innings lately. Seems like every batter he faces works the count full. The Sox' defense is great, I think he can relax a little. He threw 14 pitches through the first inning. My bad. MLB At Bat app showed 22. And 37 pitches through 2 innings. Still he needs to be more efficient.

Yes, but in fairness it’s tough to be efficient when your infield puts you in the position of having to throw to an additional batter or three per game. I’m looking forward to Pedroia’s defense in there.

He's pounding the strikezone and the infield had 2 other opportunities to make plays in the infield and couldn't make the plays. He has 5 strikeouts in 2 innings. I don't know what more you can ask from the guy.

See, that's why you run when it looks like there's no chance in hell he's going to score.

Devers didn't need to rush that throw. He got away with one there.

nice comeback win. We really cant complain at all the start of the season. Catcher production....sure. The Sox can only control their play, can't worry about MFY's, until we are actually playing them. Just keep hating them, which no one seems to have a problem with around here. It is fun to hate the MFY's. Agree: Catcher production. Same with the MFY's, especially at this point of the season. Right now i only worry about 2 teams: the Sox and the team they are playing.

Yankees win on a walk off homerun by Torres. I'm convinced that the only team that might be able to beat the Yankees at this point is the Sox.

It's amazing. We talked about the Sox killing a good Anaheim team. The Yanks swept them, too. Took 3 out 4 at Houston and just swept a supposedly good Indians team.
I don't think the Indians are anywhere near as good without a healthy Andrew Miller. Can't really put them up with NY, Boston, and Houston.
As far as Betances goes, he kind of reminds me of the new Joba Chamberlain - instant sensation turned to a mess.
Now the Sox hopefully can win this game or they'll be tied and possibly without Mookie. I hope Mookie will be alright.

I totally disagree with Jerry. 2B is not scoring position for Sandy Leon. I'm fine with that send because it took an absolutely perfect throw to get him.

Yankees win on a walk off homerun by Torres. I'm convinced that the only team that might be able to beat the Yankees at this point is the Sox. They’ve also had the benefit of relatively good teams really rolling by over. The Twins aren’t remotely as bad as they showed, Houston’s been struggling, and Cleveland looks very, very mediocre. But that shouldn’t take away from NY either...they’re doing everything right right now. Meanwhile, Sale is at 60 pitches in three innings because the Sox INF is looking exactly as bad defensively as they can. Personally, I’d rather they take the offense hit of replacing Nunez with Lin (whose xwOBA is way higher than the actual). As evidenced by ERod last night and Sale today, terrible defense has much more widespread negative effects than just an extra run or two. The tons of extra pitches is demoralizing and it forces them to put in relievers early. More looks at the pitcher too.

is this Mookie issue serious? Want him on the field for the next series. They way Cora goes about it, he may miss a game or 2
