Matt Barnes?
Cora, Eovaldi was at 82 pitches.

Cora probably got the memo about multiple times through the order.

I'm not crazy about Barnes here. He seems like he has been sliding into one of his funks. We should know after four pitches whether he is on or not.

Matt Barnes promptly walks the first guy. C'mon man.

Cora probably got the memo about multiple times through the order. At the very least he should have started the inning.

I know the third time through the order thing is real, but you have a extra day of rest in the rotation coming up, and the bullpen has been pounded (usage wise) hard the past week.

Barnes got a bit lucky on the SO. Don't lose Eovaldi's game!

If it ain't broke ..... and you still haven't finished the 3rd time through the order ..... Plus, if he’s made changes you should want to see how those fair with more looks. And it’s the Twins.

I understand the Eovaldi problems with the third time through the order thing, but with a 3-0 lead and 82 pitches I'd have at least let him face the first batter and then pulled him after he got into trouble or for an obvious lefty split advantage (which we don't really have anyway)

If it ain't broke ..... and you still haven't finished the 3rd time through the order ..... Eovaldi is usually not very good the 3rd time through the order. I think it's great to give him, the team and the fans something else to be excited about. Great start.

Eovaldi has the best cutter on this team. What a nasty pitch.

I think it's great to give him, the team and the fans something else to be excited about. Great start. I was bummed they pulled him, but I kinda feel the same way. He got 2/3 through his 3rd time. I think if he shows that, over time, that disadvantage is reduced or gone, he’ll go deeper. Given how well limiting innings has gone with Sale, I’m inclined to trust them on this one, as thrilled as I was at the possibility of a Maddux. They’re so rare these days.

I like pulling Eovaldi. Guy is coming off TJ, so if you can keep pitches down, it is for the best. Save it for October.

I would have like to see Eovaldi at least start the inning, Cora probably overmanaged that. But it’s good for him to end on a high note with 7 shutout innings

Eovaldi has the best cutter on this team. What a nasty pitch. And 76% strikes. He also threw his curve for strikes, your basic pair of shoes.

Lol, Barnes certainly keeps it interesting. Looks discombobulated coming in, leaves punching a couple guys on to stay in shape, as Eck would say.

Eovaldi was scheduled to pitch the day we traded for him. He hadn't pitched since the 20th. Rest at 82 pitches shouldn't be a factor.

At least that didn't take too many pitches. Just 2 more games against Philadelphia and then an off day I believe.
