It didn't work on Game 1, Snell is very much a big reason why they're successful this year. Well they’re facing a historically great team in the Red Sox. I wouldn’t expect it to work a majority of the time against this team. They’re 8 and 7 against the Yankees, 4 and 3 against Houston, and 3 and 1 against Oakland, with a 62 and 61 record overall. Blake Snell is going to be the only guy in this staff who qualifies for the era title, so a .500 record should be considered a success. I agree to a extent that they could look at this year and see progress, but they are probably a below .500 team without Snell. I really don't know how they go two steps forward if they keep throwing Beeks as a starting reliever, along with 2 or 3 other pitchers in their bullpen. Eventually they're going to need these guys to become starters and go 6 innings at a time, or they might never see sustained success going forward.

The Sox have had weak at bats all game. They are struggling to hit ball past the infield. Dog days of August might be catching up with them a bit today.

Both teams look lifeless. Yeah, Workman has looked like Craig Kimbrel in 2017 and Beeks looked like a young Cole Hammels. That's probably more of a proponent of the tired hitting more than anything else.

Alvarez in for the lefties. Cash making the right moves with the pen today.

I feel like the Sox don't have a shot with this guy pitching. This is unhittable here.

I feel like the Sox don't have a shot with this guy pitching. This is unhittable here. Certainly with the bottom of the lineup. Who will pitch the 9th for TB?

Just had a six inning brownout. Looks like I missed a lot of good pitching but I did see both HRs.

As good as Barnes has been all year, his play has dipped a little since the allstar break. Something to look out for.

Well Barnes helped me out there... I was just going to say I hate losing 1-0.

I thought Choi was out on the replay. Am I crazy?

I thought Choi was out on the replay. Am I crazy? Might have missed him with the tag. Surprised Cora didn't still challenge regardless.

I thought Choi was out on the replay. Am I crazy? It looked like Xander might not have touched Choi when he swiped. A good throw and Choi would have been out.

Bah Mookie. His batting average has dipped 10 points in the last week.

For the offense, problems with the sliders.

Mookie's looked as bad as he's looked all year the last few games.

At least they won the series. Still lost a game in the standings. Bad day overall though. The Sox has nothing on the hitting side today.
