985thesportshub.com/2018/12/06/celtics-guard-terry-rozier-i-want-everything-i-deserve/"I want everything I deserve," Rozier said in an exclusive with The Athletic. "And I’m going to get everything I deserve. Like I said, I’ve been around this game long enough to see how both sides work, and that’s why it helped me make my decisions." "I just want to play. Play and have fun. Put a smile on my face," Rozier, averaging just over 22 minutes per night through 23 games this season, said. "Terry’s at his best when he’s smiling. Everybody knows that. I like to smile, have fun, stuff like that. I’m always going to play for the name on the front, not the name on the back." I mean, it's great that Rozier has so much confidence in himself, but the guy just needs to probably just stop talking and just play out the year. Jesus dude we get it, you think you're a starter. Most of us agree. We are trying to win a freaking title. Suck it up for a year dude. This is getting annoying. Post from December 6th!!!! LMAO "I just want to play. Play and have fun. Put a smile on my face," Spin it Umass. Spin it to suit your agenda. LMAO- "I just want to play. Play and have fun. Put a smile on my face," Dude was blabbing all year. I can pull up other articles too. Rozier sounds like the most unselfish dude I have ever met in this quote. What a team guy.

It's an Q&A with The Athletic that asked him questions, not him bitching to the media. That's an article about an article your using lol.
I would love a bunch of Rozier quotes talking about playing time.

www.google.com/amp/s/www.masslive.com/celtics/2019/05/kyrie-irving-rumors-2019-boston-celtics-guard-marcus-smart-says-reports-irving-killed-chemistry-are-bulls-.html%3foutputType=ampIf you ask Boston Celtics fans or some media figures, the problems the team experienced this year stemmed from star guard Kyrie Irving and his attitude toward his teammates. Marcus Smart would like to disagree. “Bulls---,” Smart said. “That’s bulls---. Not one of us on this team knows what Kyrie’s been through. Probably a few amount of people in this world knows what Kyrie goes through. It was hard for him as well. He was forced into a situation where it was business over the friendships, where he had to come into a situation knowing that this is a group of guys that had something going before I come here, how will I fit in? He didn’t want to disrupt that. And that says a lot.” Smart noted how difficult Irving’s task was this season. “We took him in with full arms, and we tried to understand it,” Smart said. "Like I said, we never really understood. We’re not in his shoes. So that’s just a bullshit statement to say his leadership killed us. There’s four other guys out there, there’s 12, 13 other guys on the team, coaches and everything. So to blame it on one guy is bulls---.” This is why Smart is a leader first and foremost. It also echoes a lot of what I was saying. Blame it on one guy. Bullsh*t. Good word to use, Marcus.

Yeah, all they need is to get rid of Rozier and encourage Kyrie to shoot 100% more air balls and everything will be great. No what they need is better talent around Kyrie. Pedro, I'm totally no basketball expert - like at all, but I think there was more than coincidence that the Celtics played like a smooth functioning team last season in the playoffs when Irving and Hayward weren't around and struggled this time with them heavily involved. Sometimes less is more, and in the case of the Celtics, that might be exactly it. Tatum and Brown are keepers, not guys to deal for another superstar. I think Irving is miserable and his attitude infects the team. I loved when they got him, but have been disappointed with his "leadership". I bet you they'll be a lot more relaxed without him next season when he leaves (and if he leaves THAT much money on the table then you know he really didn't want to be in Boston.) Some guys have egos too large to lead. I think Irving is one of those guys. Just an opinion (perhaps uneducated). I'm not a huge "watch them every day" type of basketball fan. I wait for the post-season and tune in, and flip back and forth during the Red Sox games.

At minimum, Kyrie seems to be hot-and-cold, and mentally inconsistent on a daily basis. That happens on the court and happens in interviews, so it's unlikely it wouldn't happen in the locker room. Having worked with people like that, it affects cohesion and ability for everyone else to be loose or do their jobs or speak up.
People have different definitions of leadership. Marcus Smart was seeing the type of leader he wanted (and was maybe given some veteran deference by Kyrie along the way) but the Two Jays and Rozier obviously were not. I didn't hear a lot from or about Horford; was his leadership stifled?
Do I think the locker room, and on court demeanor could be better next year without someone like that? Yes. Is it a guarantee? Certainly not. Many of the Celtics mistakes (from coach on down) were mental-based. If players have to think less, it might help. The team will not be nearly as talented without him, and the ceiling goes from Champ contender to lucky conference finalist (other changes pending).
And yes, I think AD will be a similar type of "leader" as Kyrie, but with a higher talent ceiling. Though AD seems to talk less.

I think there was a tension on that team when Irving would be in one of his moods, one that wasn't there the previous year when he injured. Yeah, Irving hit that huge shot in Cleveland and will always be a Cavaliers hero, but his role was different on that team than it is on the Celtics. He wasn't The Man on that team in Cleveland as you well know. Some adjust to becoming The Man. I don't think Irving did, quite frankly.

Meh, talent don't need to get along or mesh in that sport either. Half the players on the Warriors have had issues with each other for years. It's hard and almost impossible for a point guard led team like Kyrie to be the man. Unless your name is Magic Johnson, it hasn't been done really at all in fact. Steve Nash. Chris Paul. I don't think any of these dudes made the finals. There's only so much they can do. Distribute and score the basketball mainly. They aren't two-way players on defense.

He's proven he's a winning talent in a championship team which you can't seem to grasp or dismiss completely.

How many NBA Champions have there been in the last 10-15 years Pedro that weren't good teams and just a Collection of talent? By my count three and they all had LeBron James on them. It's not just talent, if it was LeBron would have double the Championships.
The Warriors might hate each other, but they play team Basketball. It's why they are so good. The pieces need to mesh, fit and work together. Look at the Bucks, best record, not even close to the best talent. One great player, yet they play team ball, the pieces mesh together.

I don't even understand your point. You have the best player in the league, then you default to having the best talent in basketball. Bird, Jordan, Magic, LeBron. I'm pretty sure all of these players would have at least one championship even if they were playing by themselves surronded by no talent a lot. It took a super team in the Warriors to take down LeBron the past 5 years. He destroyed every other team he faced, including the Celtics everytime he went to the play-offs the past decade.

Umass does have a valid point here, Lebron underachieved on a super team with the Heat (which were just as much of an egregious assemble of talent as the Warriors, relative to their era) because he was an insufferable asshole. If Kyrie was just aloof or not that great of a teammate, then yeah, talent wins out and you don't even mention this. Problem is he was atrocious to the team chemistry and he failed miserably at anything team related. It's a thing to consider.

You really think the Bucks have the best talent? Like go compare the Warriors vs Bucks. I think Giannis would be #1, yet the Warriors have like the next five best players, it's not even close. The Bucks aren't that talented when compared to the Warriors, they just mesh well, play great team ball and the pieces fit. How can you say that about Bird, Jordan, Magic, and LeBron? Like those guys played on some of the most talented teams in NBA history. No way they win by themselves lol. LeBron lost five times in the finals and was always the best player and clearly had the better talent three times and lost to three different teams in the Mavs, Spurs, and Warriors before Durant. The last two years, with Durant yeah the Warriors were a super team, not before. They were just a better team, played team ball and the pieces fit perfectly. Playing team ball matters, how the players fit matters, how the players mesh matters. Go look at Birds Celtics teams, Magics Lakers teams, Jordans Bulls teams, and then LeBrons teams. His teams had the talent, they fit well, but didn't play team ball and lost three Championships he never should have. That's how Kyrie Irving learned how to play, Iso play over team ball. So unless you can find us a LeBron, the Celtics best way to a Championship is team ball, being a great team. Where the pieces fit and mesh, not just a collection of talent.
