Certainly have no clue on the cap rules and restrictions. Like the trade proposal pedro. Do not think that Danny would do it. Line in the sand, with what we know RIGHT NOW, how many wins next year and where are we in the seedings for the playoffs? I believe since the hayward injury we have all said that a big question as to how far the C's can go toward a title rests on the development of Tatum and Brown. Now's their chance.

I think Houstons motivation for moving those guys was Butler. No Butler, less likely.
I also loathe the idea of trading a guy at his lowest value (Hayward) when there is a very reasonable chance he restores some of it.

Nahmad reiterating the thinking in Bulpett's article (that C's are still exploring expansion of S&T to include Horford or Irving to get more cap tools).

Kemba is a class act and he's likely to be loved by the Boston fans. Kyrie is an asshole and I wish him nothing but the worst.

Only four teams have cap space remaining the two LA clubs, Dallas, and Atlanta.
The money ran out so quickly we have now seen Noel, Bell, and Kyle O'Quinn already take veteran minimum deals. It seems only the start of guys not getting paid much.
So Leonard please make up your mind and please pick an LA club.
If I'm Danny, now that sign and trades are easy. I look at Vonleh and Green, maybe even WCS if he was very cheap. Like find a way to add Vonleh or Green and Danny gets an A in my book.
Any word on Noel wanting to back out of his deal with the Thunder? He's another guy that while not the perfect fit, would be a great get.

New backup center Vincent Poirier signed by the Celts, says Shams. Anybody follow Euro ball?
ADD: All Euroleague Second Team, Leading Rebounder per wikipedia.

Apparently is a good rebounder so that's something. Any word on Noel wanting to back out of his deal with the Thunder? He's another guy that while not the perfect fit, would be a great get. He backed out of backing out and resigned with the Thunder.

Like the story the Celtics had a 100 Basketballs for Charity last year, asked everyone to sign them. Everyone on the team did besides Irving. When asked to do it he simply said I'm not doing that. Irving makes it hard to like Irving the Person. Nevermind the reports that when he was telling the Celtics fans he'd resign he was already talking with KD about teaming up together.

Is that timeline right? I had read that March was when he decided to change course and go to BRK.
He made the statement in October about wanting to return. A lot went differently between October and March, obviously.

He was just insufferable last season. You know I defended him a lot because I thought he was zany and reasonably articulated, I tend to like players who are a bit crazy. But he went off the deep end HARD and it was visibly souring everyone around him. Then the way he clearly checked out of the Bucks series and how it never felt like he even tried to adjust to the Celtics culture. It's like Kyrie never truly grasped that the Boston Celtics is a much, much much bigger deal than he is, that his legacy doesn't mean absolutely sh*t when compared to the franchise he was playing for. And it translated to the court where it felt like he was just on the verge of breaking the system and the offense never really gelled because it ran far too much out of him. It's obviously not about talent, he's crazy talented. It's about fit. He wasn't a Celtics guy and he never really made an effort to be one. He can go f*ck himself in Brooklyn and I hope to beat him over and over again in the upcoming years. And I really think his former teammates feel the same.

I really like the Poirier signing. Reminds me of a bigger version of Theis.

Watching him on YouTube he looks like he's a slightly more athletic version of Greg Monroe. Can score down low, even showed a few nice mid-range jumpers but he's a slower big. So it makes with that scouting report, he'll struggle on D in the NBA. Yet for the Veteran minimum it's a solid signing. He's a big guy and we needed bodies.
I do like that both Kanter and now Poirier are low post scorers. Add in Williams and it's going to be a lot different next year.

Seems like some combo of RWilliams/Kanter/Poirier has us set at center. What about power forward? Should the team add someone, or play a lot of Tatum at 4 with Semi and Yabusele stepping in when we go bigger? Will Grant Williams get some play? A Marcus Morris type would actually fit well for D/size, but not for offense.

By my count that puts us at 14 players right?
So do we go veteran guard or add another big?

The funny thing is he just put himself in the same exact situation he had with the Celtics. Core of the Nets is crazy young, exceptions are crazy high, going to be without an injured star and who knows how good he'll be when he comes back. The strong point of that team was guard play last year and Irving didn't play well with other guards that need the ball. It might workout once KD is back, but next year could be rough for that team.

By my count that puts us at 14 players right? So do we go veteran guard or add another big? Assuming they re-sign Theis and give 2-way to Waters, that's what I have. So 1 roster spot and 1 2-Way deal.

Assuming Waters gets a two way deal, they could dump the other guy they signed to a two way deal after Summer League and offer him a two way deal. That's about the best I think he gets. Frankly he's too slow for modern day NBA Basketball, he won't be able to just sit in the paint in a zone defense like in College. He's like a bigger, slower, less skilled Roy Hibbert. More likely he goes to the G League as a free agent.

Theis the player is OK, I like that contract though. Could come in handy down the road when making trades. If Danny ever makes a deadline deal.

Great to have Theis back, he's not much to write home about but he's a good role player. Frountcourt isn't a strenght, but we do have 4 legit bodies and Yabu to throw at people out there.
