So Vonleh and WCS got basically minimum level deals on day three of free agency. Wow I would have really liked Vonleh... I’m curious if they ever thought of him as an option .

I’m hoping we can move on from Kyrie; he’s gone let’s focus on the guys we have...

Pedro, you seem to dismiss role players. Remember guys like Eddie House? He was a terrible distributor, defender and rebounder. All he could do was shoot.
Remember Leon Powe? He was an energetic guy who could grab some rebounds but couldn’t shoot or wasn’t a good passer, etc.
Remember Glen Davis? He was super fat and out of shape? Had a ton of limitations.
Teams need role players.

I actually think Semi, Grant Williams, Carson Edwards could be great role players for this team this year. Maybe Romeo Langford can be one if he can learn to come off the bench and score, too. Poirier might be a good find and Kanter should fill a nice role and get minutes too. Add- My favorite player on the team is probably Marcus Smart, who by nature, is a role player.

Not a Celtics take and he was polarizing while here but I respect the hell out of Marcus Morris and how hard he plays. The guy is a good player who gets lost in today’s NBA salary structure so he’s going to make a lot less than he’s probably worth. One of his chances to make a good amount of money was lost by his bird rights going away. The other way is taking bloated one year deals to teams looking to roll cap space. The Lakers kind of need guards, but they also need good defenders and shooters and he’d be a perfect get for them if they don’t get Leonard.
I’m really curious where he ends up at this point. My guess is it’s ultimately somewhere on a full tax payer midlevel. I honestly don’t know who still has that available to them. There’s really not a playoff team I can really think of that he won’t fit on. Maybe Denver because they are so deep already.
Portland would have been a really nice fit but they used the MLE for Rodney freaking Hood. Since they have Bazemore, Morris would be a way better fit there. Oh well, I would like to see a team like Portland or Denver make the finals this year.
My guess is he ends up in Houston. That’d be a great get for both player and team. His shooting fits there and his toughness will go well.

Yeah, Woj reporting last night that there's not even enough space out there where Demarcus Cousins can even get mid level money. Just a awful year to be a free agent if you miss out on the cap money that teams have already offered.

Houston would be a good call.

Just a awful year to be a free agent if you miss out on the cap money that teams have already offered. Would the clippers go for Cousins if they falls short on Kawhi? At least increases their ceiling, though not sure you want him on a team that relies so much on chemistry (hence why I didn't think he'd be great for Celtics this season as they try to rebuild chemistry).

Money isn't that tight, like there is still mid-level money out there, but not on teams that either want Cousins or he wants to play with. Like he can't even go back to Golden State on a 20% raise from last year because they are now hard capped. He doesn't fit on the Lakers or Hawks. So Dallas and the Clippers are the only two teams left with cap space. I could see the Clippers giving him a deal if they don't get Leonard.
With Golden State needing to clear salary, talking about stretching Livingston and waiving Jones. Would it be worth talking about a sign and trade? Rope in the Hawks or Dallas, get the Warriors to give up some assets to save money and we thrown in that second round pick we likely get from Charlotte. Is Cousins worth it?
From a talent stand point he surely is, but you add Cousins the person. Yet since leaving the Kings, we really haven't heard a ton of negatives. Like the Pelicans wanted to resign him and I heard nothing negative about him on the Warriors. A little surprised Danny wouldn't gamble on Cousins. Like if it doesn't work just trade or release him. Not everyday you get the chance to add a player like Cousins for almost nothing.

Reports say as of right now he'll replace Gibson as the Starter. So fit likely played a huge role. It's too bad because he would have been perfect. It really only leaves Green as a 4\5 stretch big left and the Clippers likely resign him if they don't get Leonard or maybe even if they do.

I think it’s safe to say the Celtics want no part of Cousins.
I read this morning the Livingston was likely going to retire. only 2m of his salary is guaranteed and they pushed back the deadline on the other 5.7 to give them the chance to trade him and open up a little more space. The thought is the team getting him would then cut him, absorbing just the 2m but getting an asset back. Once cut by either the Warriors or the other team he’d retire and start a front office career.

I guess I missed that C's already have 1 2-Way deal done. Max Strus, a guard out of Depaul, signed right after the draft.

I feel like they can be pretty "cuttable".

Suns just sold Josh Jackson to Memphis for cap space so they can sign Ricky Rubio.
The Memphis pick might have gotten a little bit worse today.

There is a small percentage chance he starts to realize his potential but the chances of it coming on a young inexperienced team are not too good. I’m curious what their plan is with Iguodala

Josh Jackson got his baby daughter stoned from smoking marijuana next to her. If anything, that Memphis pick just GOT BETTER.

Grizzlies don't plan on giving Andre Iguodala a buyout before the season and are “actively exploring trade market" for him, per @espn_macmahon

Ha ha. Don't know why I enjoy AD and LeBron's plans going up in flames so much, but I sure do.
It'll be cool if things go to crap for the Clippers at some point. 4 of their unprotected picks and 2 swaps. Would make the Nets deal with us look good.

I'd still call the Lakers the team to beat in the West. They need to fill out their roster for sure now. Good thing the Celtics grabbed Kemba so soon, that would have been a heck of a backup plan to Leonard. The Lakers look like dopes however for clearing all that cap space and not getting a max free agent.

Lol ya, that trade Paul George is horrendous though. They better be good for the next 4 years or that'll blow up, for sure.
