We are now at the point in the game that last night's fiasco with the bullpen will cost the Red Sox. If Workman had only pitched one inning and 12 pitches,he would be available to close today's game. Of course we need to score some runs before that will matter.

Where oh where oh where does our offense go? Mitch always fades badly 2nd half. JBJ lost again. This is a huge game. Bats need to wake the hell up.

No. Why wouldn't he eventually start hitting again? That was his 3rd plate appearance since the beginning of June. Yeah, but he's just one away from 0-4. Just checked baseball history and nobody's ever come back from that. 0-3 brings Mitch to 0 for his last 29, 9k, 2BB Which is dreadful. unless he was hitting right-handed in Pawtucket

I take it you didn't check Morton's numbers before the game started? I know about that, but he is not undefeated with a 0.00 ERA. The offense this season, though loaded with big numbers, struggles far too much for the quality of the hitters. Cora has admitted often with how so many starters close down the offense.

What in the hell is going on? They lost the DH with this crap, how hard is it to figure out?

The ESPN box score has Kolarek hitting 9th and Lowe 3rd in Meadows' spot, but I believe the rule dictates the opposite, and that's what Cora is arguing.

What in the hell is going on? They lost the DH with this crap, how hard is it to figure out? The moment you move the pitcher into the field, he has to bat in the DH's spot. You cannot swap him with the pitcher who's coming into the game -- that guy, the guy who is now entering the game, has to bat in the spot of the player leaving the game. Who was batting 9th, not 3rd.
If they don't reverse this, we play the game under protest and we win it.

Yeah, I thought that was obvious that the player entering the game replaces the player that leaves the game.

I so sick of the crap Tampa pulls. I don’t care if it’s smart or what. This is why the whole league can’t stand this team. Call me old fashioned look at the movement of the game. I love the fact that Cora won’t give an inch.

You're contention is that the bats are asleep. Mine is that they faced one of the better pitchers in the league. You decide whether that's a strugle or something that was to be expected. The game is close, so they at least have a chance to pull it out.

Talk about easy ways to speed up the game. And now we won't know what happened until after the game.

LOL, going to replay because they can't figure out the rule book. The DH is gone dudes. Cash is trying to get Lowe in as his leadoff hitter for the next inning, and tried a novel double-switch to pull it off. But the rulebook says it has to be Kolarek. The pitcher at the time they lost the DH.
I can't believe the umps didn't know that rule.

Crap like this is why baseball is a dying sport. Nobody wants to watch through those meaningless delays so that either team can gain a tiny tactical advantage.

Game under protest. Red Sox should bring in a new pitcher, move him to 3B and then back to pitcher and have Devers lead off the next inning.
