Any news on Cajuste? That information make it sound like he's 4th right now for OT depth. Just that he looks the part and is athletic but behind

Sanu to be cut. 6.5m more in cap space for next year. About as disastrous use for a 2nd round pick as I can think of. I got the logic at the time, but would have rather gotten a different player (Manny Sanders?). Lost opportunities with that money and pick.

I will be VERY interested in seeing what the depth chart looks like come Sunday. Who fills the opt out spots? Is Cam the starter? What does the passing game look like? Does not look like they have anything in the way of good to great receivers. Load the box against the run and put your Db's in man will be the challenge for the pats offense. Does not appear that they have enough depth at NT and the LB's look thin. Does that mean teams will run against the defense? Bill is still in charge and he usually figures it out , so probably another good season coming.

Reports on Harris in camp were outstanding from his running to receiving so I’m excited to see him. 4. Reports for the offensive line have been outstanding - everyone looks healthy. Eluemunor is being talked about like he’s on the Brown plan from a couple years ago. He’s a pending free agent so looks like he’s shedding the lazy label to try and get paid. Good.. and Froholdt seems to be a legit guard and center so we have depth. Both rookie TEs are said to be good blockers. 5. Linebackers has a ton or talent but it’s young and it’s going to struggle like you mention. 6. Reports are Wise added a lot of weight and strength and has moved inside pretty much full time and has been great there. If true, then him and Guy with Butler is a pretty nice trio. This is a transition year for sure, but I expect them to make the playoffs.

That trade looked horrible the minute it was made and it's now official it's the worst trade in 20 years. We could have a stud young WR like Mims instead of nothing. Them releasing him even after paying such a high price is what they do. He made way too much money!😁

It wasn't talked about here, yet two weeks ago Stidham went down with a leg injury. Nothing serious, yet he missed some time and couldn't practice 100% for a while which basically ended the QB competition. Which isn't a bad thing, no joint practices or preseason games made it crazy hard for him to get ready.
It looked like it came down to picking between Sanu and Myers. They went with the younger cheaper player under contract for three more years. Which isn't surprising as they are very similar players.
I would expect a few trades and signing a few guys that get cut. Bill always does that, yet this team isn't as deep at certain areas as past teams were.

Follow up... Harris wasn’t at practice today - if this guy got injured and it’s going to affect his play like happened in camp last year I’m going to puke.
Also, another note I forgot: I read reports that JC Jackson was the best corner in camp and not because Gilmore’s play fell

He's a beast in coverage, has been for two years now. I use next year's market to help lock him up at a good rate.

I’d try and lock him up now - rip up this years $750k and next years tender and try and lock him up. He’s barely made any money.

Harris has a hand injury, likely to keep him out week 1. NOT a great start for that guy. He and Wynn are teases at this point, and we really need them both this year.

Next year's free agent market should knock down the top numbers for CBs. It frankly works out perfectly. I want him playing for that big deal this year. Yet if a good deal is there I'm not turning it down either.

No Jeff Thomas on practice squad. That’s disappointing either because he didn’t want to stay or because he didn’t show enough to warrant a spot.
Glad they retained JJ Taylor.
Also, like how they are using the new rules so they don’t need to roster a kicker for a few weeks.

No undrafted player made the team ending the streak. Which I think speaks volumes about the limited camp, no joint practices and no preseason games. It just didn't give the guys a chance to show their stuff. Glad Taylor made it and I'm glad they kept a ton of OL depth.
People call it a rebuilding year, yet we have one of the oldest rosters in the league even after guys like Chung, Hightower, Cannon and Bolden opt outs.

The reason it’s a rebuilding year, I’ve actually called it an adjustment year, is because they are using the second least cap space in the league while holding the second most cap space. Some of that has to do with timing but not all of it. They are one of the oldest rosters for 2 reasons:
1. Bill always competes which is why I call it retooling.
2. They haven’t gotten much from the last bunch of drafts. Some by design, but a lot of it is poor drafting or poor injury luck.

That's a little misleading because they were basically capped out after the Cam signing. Then extra money from Hernandez/Brown, opt outs happen, then they release Sanu. Yet all that money comes when not many good free agents are available. I truly believe Sanu would have been cut, hence the release and no mention of asking him to take a pay cut.
I believe Bill is 100% trying to win and just doing what he usually does. I don't think Bill has rebuilding or retooling in him.

I never said he wasn’t trying to win but they made some moves in years past that were kind of all in type moves. This year is more compete within this more restrictive budget with the eye on really blowing it out next year. They could have signed Clowney and made trades to use that cap space.

We've also seen them trade guys like Seymour and Jones which was clearly long-term type moves, not all in type moves. It always has gone both ways with Bill. The fact that it was Basically Clowney who isn't a good fit kinda makes my point no? How many big trades have we seen in the the last few months? I just don't see it. There was no big time TE or WR sitting there or other big time players at positions of need.

I think we can count that since it was a procedural move. Who's with me?!?!?
