I was thinking as an alternative to 1B and emergency LF. I don't see Chavis as likely to play much 2B going forward. Munoz and Arroyo both play 2B and we have Downs in the pipeline, maybe late next year. That leaves him splitting time with Dalbec who also bats right handed. . . . Are there a lot of hard working dirtdogs making minimum wage who are currently OPSing 1.000 ? Asking for a friend.
All of a sudden the edit function isn't working either. I tried several times to edit Rule 5 to Rule 5 above and it doesn't take.

Munoz might just be the most interesting freebee addition. I know nothing about his past other than the numbers. Watching the sim games at Pawtucket, it was pretty clear that he and Grullon were the biggest hackers at the site. Neither gets cheated on a swing.
I don't know if that is new to his game or not but the rapidly declining GO/AO ratios and non contact rates(K+BB/PA) would seem to indicate that he's a progressively changed player.
ADD: Now the edit function is working. (LOL, or not). I still can't edit a previous post but can edit this one.
ADD2: When he made the big club the general comments of the announcers was that the fans were going to like him.

Age Lvl PA EqA 18 R 77 .307 19 A- 265 .265 20 A / (A+) 565 .260 21 AA 413 .246 22 AA / AAA 477 .262 23 (AAA) / MLB 429 .266 24 MLB 195 .223
He's been a league-average hitter pretty consistently (except when he was rushed to AA), so the question is whether his MLB success this year means anything. His defensive numbers in MLB are bad everywhere. Still, you want him in Worcester next year.

I tend to look at players now. We will see what happens over the course of the rest of the season. He's not as good defensively as Arroyo but a lot more versatile.
ADD: If you focus on the major league ABs, you will see a pretty dramatic improvement in contact rates and what happens when he makes contact. He's basically changed from being a high strikeout/walk ground ball machine to the exact opposite.

I was thinking of trying to form a poll question for this subject. There are some that want to go all out next year including draft pick compensation free agents. www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/04/potential-2020-21-qualifying-offer-candidates.htmlMany others suggest adding to compete with more conservative contracts from players who don't receive a QO. Some suggested the Sox don't look to be competitive until 2022 although with the prospect of expanding playoffs, I wonder if anyone here still holds that view.
