Is anyone else annoyed and not surprised at Cam being the starter?

I’m not annoyed by it, I expected it. He wasn’t ever not going to be the starter unless he completing crapped the bed in camp, which he didn’t.
I bet you see Mac immediately after the Bucs game

Agreed, I am not annoyed by it I mean it's the QB position, it's the NFL and it's BB. All three of those add up to a rookie not starting right out of the gate. BB has shown Cam too much loyalty at this point and Cam has come here on the cheap so BB is going to give him the chance. Now if he struggles like last year and doesn't get a pretty quick hook I am going to be more than annoyed.
There is where the problem might be, people actually rooting against Cam because they want to see Mac. Can't root against a Patriots QB so we should be supportive.

Chiefs are trading OL Yasir Durant to the New England Patriots in exchange for the Patriots' 2022 seventh-round draft pick, according to a source.
Durant joined the Chiefs in 2020 as an undrafted free agent.
So guess Cajuste hasn’t been as good / he flashed in the Philly game but got torched against the Giants.
Hope the Pats can trade some of this depth instead of cutting it.

Based on what I've been reading heading into cutdown day, here are some of the questions at each position:
QB - Aside from who starts, the other question is whether or not Hoyer makes it. Though maybe better said, whether he completely survives the day or whether he gets cut and then re-signed once they can get a player or 2 onto IR
RB - Similar to Hoyer, will Bolden get cut and brought back in a few days?
FB - Johnson or no? Not sure if he has to go through waivers as part of the International Program (to get to the PS). Once he's on the 53, his IP status goes away.
WR - Will the trade for someone? Seems like Harry will make the cut but likely put on IR after the dust settles. Will BB cut an All-Pro punter returner (Gunner)? Did Wilkerson/Zuber do enough in the final week?
TE - How healthy is Henry. If he's not, then LaCosse could be kept. Otherwise, keeping 4 TEs seems heavy (especially if they DO keep Johnson)
OT - Thought this was locked in at Wynn/Brown/Herron/Cajuste but then they traded for G/T Durant. Who knows
IOL - Onwenu/Andrews/Mason/Karras seem locked in. Will Ferentz make it too?
DL - Guy/Godchaux/Barmore/Wise are in. Despite playing into the 4th on Sunday, Anderson's guarantee suggests he will be to and many have projected Davis. Breer said Spence and Adams were garnering trade interest. Cowart on PUP is nice depth
EDGE/LB - Winovich has been talked about here but another component of his role is Special Teams. He does have a role there adding to his value. Beyond that, what happens with Jennings. Will they cut him after only 1 year (he might have less trade value than even Duke Dawson - the only other higher pick to be gone so soon). Is he a 53-Man to IR candidate? Langi has stuffed the stat sheet during the exhibition season. He might have a chance.
CB - Gilmore isn't getting cut and the chance of a trade seems unlikely. So he'll either be moved to Reserve PUP (6 game absence), make 53 only to be moved to IR (3 game absence if he's designated to return) or just make the 53 and be inactive initially. Williams seemed like he was having a decent camp yet his spot seems tenuous at best. He plays a lot on ST so that helps his cause. Did Ross do enough?
S - Biggest question mark would appear to be Bryant. Thought he was a lock but then saw some projections that had him off the 53. Haven't read much about him but BB usually love his kind of versatility (CB/S).
ST - The Nordin over Folk narrative didn't last long. Guessing BB would like to have him on the PS. Set otherwise except for whether or not they keep another ST Only guy in Brandon King.

Myles Bryant is the first big surprise of the day. Cut.
Also, LaCosse was cut but not as much of a shock. I had forgotten he's been dealing with a concussion since getting laid out in the Philly joint practice.

Very surprised about Bryant
Although I guess Wade can do a lot of the things he does while being like 5 inches taller. Play slot, a little safety. It’s crowded back there

I’m not surprised by Bryant, he’s small and not that good.

You have to give it to Bill, he holds things close to the vest and isn’t afraid to make hard decisions.

Wow. Bye Bye Cam. I'd much rather go with a season developing Jones than to cringe watching Cam try to hit receivers. Well done!

By the way I’m all in on Mac Jones at 15 if he’s still there.

WOW Nobody could have seen that coming. IMO it must have been what Cam wanted as it doesn't make the Pats stronger this season, Mac goes down and Hoyer isn't the answer. What is Stidhams injury situation?
edit. So Stidham is out for most of the season. Does covid have anything to with cutting Cam?

PUP for Gilmore. Out 6 weeks. I think this might be becoming a tit for tat thing. BB says ok you can't practice then the PUP it is and then they will add him or trade him but he won't be getting a raise. BB isn't going for the new hold out scheme that umass thought up.

Hmmmm..... ok then what is going on if Gilmore is supposedly healthy? Is he not, I don't think so. You still think they have a deal in place? Why, to what end? To play less and help his career? That isn't going to make him more money being on the pup.

So I just saw that if Gilmore is never activated from PUP, his contract tolls. So instead of choosing to "activate himself" with 6 games remaining, BB has control? Is that how it would work?

Guess it's time for me to learn how to spell "McCorkle." Back in the Offseason thread I proposed all the available QBs prior to trades/releases and free agency and the draft. Mac Jones was my Minimum Acceptable QB option.
I'd much rather watch Mac struggle at times than watch Cam struggle, and I think Mac is gonna be good a lot of the time. His highlights show some real Brady throwbacks (moving in the pocket, cool with dudes around, timing throws only his guy can get). Hoping the RBs and TEs can give him lots of outlets as he gets his feet wet, and hoping the WRs do their part to help him chuck it like he can.
Is Hoyer enough as a backup? Just saw Nick Mullens signed to PS for Browns; I wouldn't hate him.
Gilmore on PUP will hurt what could have been an All Time defense. Hopefully the team can all can hit their stride in Nov/Dec in classic BB style.
