I always look forward to the start of a new season but this year I am especially amped up to see these guys get going, so many story lines to watch unfold. |

Certainly makes all the deals the Pats made this offseason look better if that is the case and this is the direction of contracts. Watt has a lot of work to do to make that contract worthy. |

Boy, I have to say, Cam’s attitude has been super positive through this whole thing. He will very obviously have a job in sports media if he wants it after his career is over. Very handsome, likable, charismatic etc.
If Mac gets injured, this is going to be a strange what if.

Mac Jones is an RPO guy, so yeah Cam Newton I'm sure he can teach you things! He's just doesn't understand that the Panthers built an offense around him. He just doesn't understand how bad his football IQ is. Him saying what can Jones teach him, is exactly why he couldn't be a backup and frankly why he doesn't have a job.

Just a weird story. So the timeline is they traded for the 3rd picking thinking there was a chance they’d want to take Mac before the pats could get him, but after further evaluation they determined Lance was their guy? |

First they were way off on Bill trading up, he didn't even trade up a few spots for Mac Jones. No way #3 was ever in play. Second they could have stayed at 12, took Jones and had their next two years firsts and an extra third. Trey Lance better be one good QB. |

What I saw that makes the most sense is this is a "cover your ass" story from Schefty after he insisted before the draft it was Mac all along. But why bring it back up at all?

I tend to think we care more about an insider being wrong than they do. Most know that for every true thing they are given, they are given multiple pieces of misinformation.
They know it. It's part of the dynamic. But we tend to be desperate to say "he was wrong" as though that somehow makes us more important.
