Rich Paul might be the worst agent ever. He costs Noels almost 60 million when an 8th grader knew he should have jumped at that Dallas contract. Now because he isn't happy about Simmons, he's dragging Maxey into it. That's crossing a line in a massive way. He's playing games with a young players future. If Simmons gets traded, that opens up an opportunity for Maxey. I actually love Doc Rivers teaching Maxey to play PG and he fits that team. You need to put your players first, do what's best for them, not use them as pawns. Maxey do yourself a favor, find another agent.

Maxey's opportunity likely depends on what Philly gets in return. Many of the ideas (and, tbc, they are JUST that right now) include ball dominant guards coming back to Philly.

Shams reporting that, due to local rules, unvaccinated players for the Knicks, Nets and Warriors will not be able to play/participate home games or team activities at the stadium (unless they have medical/religious exemptions).

So Maxey doesn't want to be traded and made his agent walk back his past comments.

Rich Paul is just the worst man. Idk how anybody could sign on to him. If you’re not an absolute superstar he’s gonna cost you money and he won’t care

Boston trading Dunn, Edwards and a 26 2nd rd pick to Memphis for Juancho Hernangomez, per Woj
EDIT - deal can't be completed until Sept 15th bc Dunn's salary can't be aggregated yet.

Really like this as a fringe move to add a bench PF stretch 4. Basically budget Markannen and not much different of a player. B+ off-season IMO.

Next years contract is non guaranteed for him so it’s another guy you can use as salary matching in a trade this season.

Also you get rid of one useless player in Edwards and possibly another in Edwards…
Why would Memphis do this deal? Donn N to they have too many contracts as is?
This probably guarantees Parker’s place on the roster.

Nice, I mentioned him earlier, yet he had two years on his contract. Yet with all the extension it makes more sense now. He just needs to become more consistent.

This probably guarantees Parker’s place on the roster. A defensive back up PG fits better than a shooting PF, yet not by much. I don't know, I'm so confused by the moves they have made this offseason. Why trade JV for Adams? They already had Tillman, Jackson, Anderson, etc. I just wish we could have swapped Bruno for Oturo lol.

I always liked Hernangomez. Versatile defender, hustle guy, doesn’t shoot as well as he was supposed to coming out of the draft but still a very useful bench player. Obviously a better fit for the roster as the backup 4. Great trade. No idea what Memphis is doing, that franchise has been a little all over the place recently.

According to Basketball Reference, he has spent some time as a small ball 5 which surprised me (thought he'd be a bit too lite for that).
I was actually wondering if this would HURT Parker's chances (at least from a PT perspective - I recognize that this clears out pure roster space).
If Grant W was more of the defensive Stretch 4 and Parker was more of the offensive guy, then Juancho (on paper) fits SOMEWHAT in the middle (admittedly, based almost exclusively on his 14 game stretch as a starter in Minny but he did show some ability there).

In the playoffs the Nets used Blake Griffin, Jeff Green and Claxton at center. Those are bad matchups for Grant Williams. So yeah I'd say Juancho is exactly in the middle of Williams and Parker. I really can't judge his D, given the Timberwolves didn't play any. Yet he's athletic and moves well.
I'm torn about Parker now, yet he's still a darn good scorer and I love how he can score inside the 3 point line. The more I think about it, this could effect Grant Williams more. Like what role does he have now? He's not a scorer and he struggles with athletic players.

This is probably a good thing, even for Grant. Earn it! You outplay Juancho and Parker, you'll get the minutes (and then Parker could be the odd man out by January when his contract fully guarantees). If not, you have veterans who can match up better against the lineups that Boston will face (as UMass points out).

FYI it's actually a pick SWAP in 2026 2nd round.
Agree with UMass this might squeeze G-Williams. I think you need to keep Parker for the scoring upside.

So you need to fill the other two way contract, which looks like they'll wait till someone they like becomes available.
That really just leaves Bruno, yet I could see them just saving money now and only moving on if a buyout guy they like becomes available. Maybe some good coaching can teach him how to set screens.
I'm impressed by Stevens, it's like he knows what he's doing. He's addressed depth issues and has given you a flexible roster with the right ratio of veterans to young guys. The pieces fit and it makes sense. This is night and day compared to last year.

John Karalis (BSJ) suggests that, IF they want to go by the numbers, C's could consider starting Juancho and getting him 25MPG since his shooting numbers drastically improve when he starts and plays significant minutes.
Not sure they'll go in that direction but it certainly would add to the "We have vets for every position so you young guys are going to have to earn PT" narrative (since such a move could/would impact the young wings minutes).

Kyrie's loyalties sure don't last long:
Brooklyn is trading DeAndre Jordan to Detroit for Jahlil Okafor and Sekou Doumbouya. This following the signings of Paul Millsap and LaMarcus Aldridge.
EDIT - Detroit also getting 4 future 2nd Rd Picks

The more i think on this trade the more I love it. You traded 1 useless player (Edwards) and another possibly useless player (Dunn), for a guy who is useful and probably more helpful in a trade package. If he fits great, then you also have him next season at good money. If not, he’s off the books.
I know the theory of Dunn makes him useful, but it’s been 2 years since he’s been that guy and that guy relied on GREAT defense to be who he was. Offensively, he’s not good. A guard defender, having ankle surgery and injections in his knee gives you pause that he could lose a step, which for an in ball defender could be significant. He will still be a very good defender, I’m sure, and have a role but how big can it actually be and do you want it taking time from Pritchard?
