Where do you get Gilmore would play without the Patriots giving him what he wanted? That seems to go against the reports saying they traded him because they couldn't agree on his contract. So you believe Gilmore would have just played, yet we traded him for a 6th round pick? I'd also point out the Patriots didn't go down the fine him route, head coach didn't call him out, along with our players. It was handled much differently by both franchises. Even now Embiid is telling the media he's done with him, yet reports say they won't trade him. I don't like what either side is doing frankly. Yet I see it as the same as Gilmore, he was just a lot smarter about it and the team/players handled it much differently. They asked him to take less money and he said no. He had to play to earn a year to be a free agent. Football doesn’t let guys hold out the full year. Where did you get that information? I just went and looked at a bunch of the articles, nothing about the Patriots asking him to take a paycut. |
