Reports saying Portland is offering CJ, Covington and two first round picks for Simmons. That's a damn solid offer.

Cs bringing Ryan Arcidiacono and Garrison Matthews in on non guaranteed deals. But I think that brings the total to 21 which isnt possible. No official announcement on Kornet so it's possible that didnt actually happen. Kinda like Garrison Mathews as a depth shooter. He’s an NBA-caliber player imo

Are any of these guys two way contract eligible? They all have played two years in the NBA, yet I don't know how they calculate service time in Basketball.

A player can't sign for more than two years on two way contracts on the same team. He can get a third year with a new team. Players with three years of service time can sign a one year two way contract. So yeah most are eligible.

I think he has the talent to be a max guy and he had a hell of a year, this is definitely paying him on upside though

MPJ getting max money is kind of crazy right? I don't think so, dude is insanely talented and if his medicals hold up it will be a steal. Dude shoots the absolute lights out while being massive

He’s an elite offensive player, but the defensive and health issues are there. He’s not a no-doubt max player, which makes me think that they could have waited out for a small discount (or just waited to match a max offer in restricted free agency next year), but the Nuggets are capped out and may want some good “we’re all in” vibes.

If Denver can stay healthy that is a formidable lineup for years.

I'm not surprised, I expected a max deal. Now I didn't expect a 5 year full max that could turn into a super max deal though. He was certainly on pace to get full max deals in free agency.
Funny fact when Danny made the Tatum trade and tried to get cute. We went from being able to get Bridges, SAG and Porter to getting Langford.

People are roasting Simmons because his agent says a big reason for wanting a trade is that Simmons and Embiid don't fit well together. I find that very funny because it's 100% true. Yet Simmons wanting to be the #1 option on a team is also very funny. He can't be that unless he improves his FT shooting and even then it's going to be hard. Number one options that can't shoot are usually elite low post scorers like Giannis, not slashing PGs that struggle with even shooting FTs. It's kinda sad watching what's happening to Simmons. If I'm his coach I'm forcing him to shoot jumpers because I truly believe it's a mental issue and not a he can never do it issue. Simmons just wants a team built around his skill set, yet that seems lazy. Go out and improve your shooting, all these years and he just won't even try. Game on the line down three with one second left and he won't even think about shooting it.

He needs to solve it or his career is greatly diminished. shoot shoot shoot and shoot some more!!! Kind of rooting for him as it is kind of sad.

As someone who was negative at the beginning of the offseason I want to say once again. I like this team and think they could be very good if they can stay healthy. They will play great D and hopefully push the ball. They seem to be deep enough to spread minutes and keep the defensive intensity up enough to be very hard to play against. Pace will help keep the scoring pressure off the J's. It will also make them fun to watch.
Prediction time. 55 wins which should put them around 2nd in the East behind the Bucks. I predict the Nets will be good but once again Kyrie will create enough controversy to have a negative effect on the locker room. That and injuries will hold them back.

Good game to get the rust off, I thought they looked pretty good in the parts I watched. Seemed like the ball wasn’t sticking as much as it did last year and the defense was quality

I really love having Al back. Guy appreciates what it means to play for our city. I appreciate you too Al! The defense came back when he came back

I can't stress enough how much I feel Tatum at PF should be the only choice the majority of the time.
How our Coach uses and mixes Smart, Schroder, Pritchard, Richardson, Nesmith and Langford is going to be crazy important. You like the overall talent level, yet they aren't all perfect matches either.

was listening to Adam Jones after the game (he is quite a horse's ass most of the time) and his big takeaway was that the team play, ball movement, etc looked the same. I've decided he is mostly an obnoxious troll!

If Nesmith can shoot to his potential it will help a lot. I still think we are short on shooting since Smart, DS and Richardson can get cold for days/weeks at a time. Agree on Tatum

I absolutely LOVE his game when he is on, but he's prone to go MIA for long stretches in a way I find quite frustrating. That being said, the Celtics played some absolutely beautiful offense when it ran through him and I hope to see a lot of that for the next season.

It would be pretty funny if Kyrie’s refusal to get vaccinated tanked the Nets season.
