Odorizzi another 2021 offseason SP target who I'm glad the Sox didn't sign. Full disclosure: I was all in on him. I'm glad they held back

Plus Rizzo has been dealing with some back issues - he just missed a few games because of them. Would want to make sure the medical checks out as well. If Bloom was actually to make a deal like that, I'd rather go in on Bryant and stick him in left. Better yet, Ketel Marte who is not just a rental (but would probably cost Downs, a pitcher and an A level guy).

Andriese will get his long relief appearance tonight. I hope he can go 4 or 5 innings and Walkman (oops I mean Workman) can go the rest of the way...

Implosion start. Keep throwing sinkers middle and above.

As of this moment, the Sox' starters ERAs are:
3.78 3.78 3.88 3.88 5.59 Naturally it's the 5.59 guy who has the best xFIP (and second best xERA).

On the bright side, games like today tend to screw up batters timing the next few days. Might as well just keep throwing them meatballs.

Get someone to replace Dalbec. Unfair! He is going to hit 35+ homers along with Chavis once he graduates from AAA. OBP is overrated. Just ask Tampa Bay...It is hitting a measly .228 but has scored more runs than the Sox.

Would’ve preferred they at least squeezed another one outta Andriese but I guess I understand why they didn’t
Hopefully Workman can give them 2

Good inning by Workman - get him stretched out and finding his confidence again. Wish our bats would get a bit of hard contact.

And another good inning by Workman. Too bad Perez crapped the bed tonight...and snoozy bats doing us in.

Good inning by Workman - get him stretched out and finding his confidence again. Wish our bats would get a bit of hard contact. This game is out of hand. That's ok..We won 5 straight. Workman needs a legitimate FB to be successful. So far, he doesn't have it. Curves, no matter how good, are prone to balls and any pitch can't be thrown every time. Workman has a short leash and timeline.

Well, Bobby needs to be Franchied for awhile. This is painful. Here's how his season has gone so far:
4/2-4/10: .095/.194/.095, -22 wRC+
4/11-4/23: .387/.441/.581, 180
4/24-5/6: .029/.057/.118, -61
5/7-5/22: .293/.356/.683, 178
5/23-6/7: .097/.125/.194, -20
He's exactly the hot-and-cold guy he's been advertised as. But have you ever seen a guy whose hot and cold streaks were like .700 points of OPS apart from each other?
I still think they should ride with him through the summer, and then trade for a 1B replacement if he can't get these cold streaks at least a little bit under control. I don't really see going to AAA being a help to him, when the problem appears to be not that he can't hit major league pitching, but that he just gets completely lost at the plate for 2-3 weeks at a time. But I can understand why anyone's patience would be running thin by now.
He's due to get hot again, incidentally, and it would be a little worrisome if it doesn't happen within a week or two.

Well that was a stinker. But - for the season, they haven't been all that common.

Dalbec should be concentrating on hitting to right field solely right now. he appears to be striding toward 3rd and getting beat away. they pitch away. slam away.
