Not saying he needs it, but do you all think Sale's velocity will ever return? He was up to 97 in this game. He's now pitching like it's a 9-1 game. |

Not saying he needs it, but do you all think Sale's velocity will ever return? i would say probably not, with the caveat that we don't really know if he has decided to not throw as hard. I think i did see a few 95 and an 96 this game but they are rare now. Usually 92-94. He used to sit 95-96 and pop 98..... pretty sure I saw a few 99 and even a 100 before injury?? Maybe he is holding back |

He is not dominant any longer...more crafty. Tough crowd. He's pitching in a blowout. This is not the time to put his stuff under a microscope. Prior to the game breaking open, he was dominant. Pitchers always pitch to contact in blowouts.  My takeaway from this game is not that he'll never be the same. It's that in his 2nd game back after the COVID IL, he's up 4-5 mph from his last start. |
