One of the things about Bloom’s spaghetti throwing is that, yes, it yields a guy like Wacha. But then you also have Ottavino last year, Richards, Diekman… guys who are just soul crushing. I don’t know that the good outweighs the bad.

It leaves me thinking how horrible this team will be next year when JD and X opt out and they trade Raffy because he will cost to much.

I don’t know that the good outweighs the bad. And when he finds someone in the spaghetti, like Renfroe, he decides it was luck, so tosses him away (well actually, takes on 18 million and the worst hitter in baseball) to dispose of him. I'm trying not to overreact, and "trust the process" but the results so far have been weak.

Franchy just needs a chance. He has so many tools. We will not question Franchy.
Add: hey man, guy can’t hit a lick, but he is cheap and under team control for a long time!
It’s like the old joke: the food is terrible and there’s not enough of it,

I still feel like letting Schwarber go is the "one that got away" for Chaim. Always a 90th percentile barrel percentage and exit velocity, all you needed to do was stash him for a year in the field before JDM left. His contract wasn't bad either.
The sad thing with Chaim is that I think he's nailing 80% or more of the job, it's just in the most important ones (roster construction, big name contracts) it's an incomplete grade at best.

How can you not do well on roster construction and big names but be 80%? What is in that 80%? New office recycling plan?

It leaves me thinking how horrible this team will be next year when JD and X opt out and they trade Raffy because he will cost to much. JD is not a loss. He's on pace for 2.6 B-Ref WAR and that's with his fast start - the same kind of fast start he had last year before dropping off. The WAR number doesn't account for the fact that you're devoting an entire roster spot to a guy who can only DH. I'll be glad to have the $22M in AAV freed up.

10 games at home after the all star break vs TOR, CLE, MIL to close out July. At that point it will be make or break for Bloom. The team can make it easy for him if they continue this downward trend (almost got swept by Cubs so it is not just vs the AL East). Fire sale (no pun) if it gets to that point. Collect some young players that maybe you can package with existing prospects to acquire better young established players that can fill the vacancies for those departing via FA.
