Kind of bummed they aren't giving players days off at this point, The President's trophy is as closed to clinched as it could be, you have back to back games over the weekend. Give a couple of the older guys a day off Saturday, a couple Sunday. Use Zboril to keep rotating D-men. I believe the plan is to keep Zboril in rotation. Hoping McAvoy and Marchand get nights off soon

Well definitely resting guys today.
I wonder if they think there is a big advantage to not letting Carolina see those guys before the playoffs.

Excuse me? I think you mean 51. Playing like a game breaker today with Marchand and Bergeron out. Sometimes this regular season I feel like he’ll take some nights off and play some pond hockey. Not doing that today! Super engaged

Terrible thrd period. After dominating for 2 periods, they couldn't have bene flatter.
Amazing to come away with a W after that. and with the guys out that were out, including Lauko going down.
Great game for Swayman.
Clinched the second best record. 16 points up on Carolina with 10 to go (for Carolina). 5 points is the magic number for the President's Cup.

You really hope this isn't the end of Marchand's career. Double hip surgery...it looks terrible and has for weeks. Hopefully it's fatigue and he can return to some sort of form.

I think he’s looked much better the last few games tbh
He’s still a ppg and a +26, his situation isn’t as bleak as you paint it to be. He’s not at his peak but he’s far from washed up

Refs were clown car tonight. Bergeron takes a high hit, blood on his ear, initial call downgraded.
Marchand's stick handling looked more like is old self tonight, his passing is some of the worst on the entire ice. He's consistently passing to the other team. It's odd considering his shooting is so elite normally. (By the way, he has zero short handed goals this year, and he's in a 12 game goalless streak which is one of the longer slumps he's ever had.
Krecji looking sharp again with his passing. It was noticeable tonight.
Frederic looks wretched. He's reverted to being an oaf with no touch. Sad after how well he was playing just a few weeks ago.
Lindholm generally looks gassed. Obviously a great pass on the game winner though! His first shift in OT. I hope they get him some more rest. For the first ~30 games of the season he might have been the best player in the entire NHL.
Zacha though. He's like a rocket, flying around the ice, but his shot is so pray and spray. He's wild thing coming out of the bullpen. No idea where it's going. If he ever dedicates himself to honing his shot accuracy he could be a really great player.
The Power Play had a couple moments that looked like it might be figuring something out. Never scored though. Tough to tell if it was how terrible Columbus was, of Boston figuring it out. I'm hoping for the later. They're going to get punished in the playoffs if the powerplay stays as limp as it's been for the past six weeks.

Bs win (and Cs win) - so the Sox loss stings far less! 538.com has Bs 35% chance to win it all - Avalanche behind them with 15%

Frederic one-punched the guy who cross checked Bergeron in the head, he may not have played great today but he still became a legend

So hitting the Goalie in the head with a stick is not interference.
WTF?

There was 2 penalties right in front of the ref not called, Marchand cross check to hit back and at the same time Coyle was hi sticked to the face, crickets from the ref RIGHT there. Then after missing the Interference call, despite reviewing it, they kept calling penalties to the Bruins. Absolutely some shenanigans going on, and they still win.

Hall back tonight. Good he gets some work in before the playoffs.
I hope we set the records and all, but I really wish he was giving some guys more rest. That's way more important that chasing a record. for Ws or points.

62.
Timo Meier with two cheap shots. Wish we had another regular season game to teach him a lesson.

That's way more important that chasing a record. for Ws or points. It’s not that easy to give guys rest in the NHL like other sports. You can sit them out some but you can only sit a couple guys out at a time. Right now Krejci has an injury (hopefully minor) so you’re already sitting him. Bergeron had one before so they sat him a couple games. But it’s not like you can just decide to sit 5 guys a night. You get 2-3 scratches to work with.
