The Yankees didn't even know Judge was coming to the winter meetings in the meantime.

Yeah you're crazy. It's worth a lot to be able to pay some of the money in 2032 after 10 years of baseball salary/luxury tax limit and regular inflation OTOH, the luxury tax hasn’t been rising anywhere near as quickly as inflation. In real world financial terms you’re obviously right… in baseball terms I think I agree with incandenza. I would rather pay a few million more now for the privilege of not having two years of $25M+ dead payroll later.

Remember when the Red Sox competed for elite talent during the winter meetings, what has changed. Is it ownership or is it management? I think it's a front office that no longer leaks info to the media. I’m sure this approach is advantageous in negotiations, but, as a fan, I do miss having offseasons that weren’t like watching paint dry on Ambien

As has been pointed out previously, that’s a parody Twitter account.

Yankees expected to meet with Nimmo, perhaps they see the writing on the wall that judge is going home to Cali? More likely just doing their due diligence on a plan B for the outfield though.
I dont see them likely as signing both of them.

Interesting. He could be a very nice fit over there. Could be an underrated move for the guardians. Heyman tweeted it's 2 years 33M with an opt out. Pretty good deal for Bell there as well.

Bell's time in SD tanked his value. ZiPS has him at only 1.8 WAR next year. Kinda surprised he did as well as he did

Rangers about to lock up Heaney as well. Looks like 2 years with an opt out. Wonder how much money he's getting. Not a guy I'd have hated for the Sox on a 2 year max guarantee.

Could be absolute B.S. but iTalkStudios (big Sox guy) on Twitter is citing a source that Judge will be signing an 8 year incentive laden contract w/ the Giants.

Heaney to the Rangers for 2/25 with incentives to take it to 37. Kinda like it for them, just add all the high upside volatile guys and hope it clicks.

If their rumored 360M deal is over 8 years then I can certainly see why Judge would be interested. I have a hard time seeing him getting 45AAV though. I do think that we will know on Judge in the next day or so.

I'm torn on Judge. That's big money to an older guy, but I like the idea of his bat being gone from the AL.

The Twitter account who broke a few Red Sox signings last year is reporting Judge to the giants pretty much staking his entire reputation on it, call me naive but I believe him Jon Heyman now calling it.

False alarm. Heyman has rescinded, saying he has "jumped the gun." Or rather jumped the flamethrower.
