Story with 2K's in 2 PA's Rafaela with 2 BB's

Stephen Scott homered and now has a 996 OPS at AAA with only 13 K's in 101 PA. Red Sox have not been acting like he is much of a priority, but he could be playing his way into a Rule 5 selection.

Story with 2B, and Rafaela with another BB (runners on 2nd & 3rd, 1 out) to get Dalbec to the plate the bases loaded
EDIT ADD: (1st pitch popup for Bobby D)

Story with 2K's in 2 PA's Rafaela with 2 BB's Make it 3 BB’s for the electric factory. 4 straight balls in each PA. They’re scared 😜

Story with 2K's in 2 PA's Rafaela with 2 BB's Story with an RBI double Rafaela with a 3rd BB. He's seen 12 pitches, all balls (some close). Big game for my favorite pre-Teel catcher. 3R HR and a double.

At this point he's an emergency catcher defensively. at best. Unless he's improved significantly during this year. Hope he gaining ground defensively, because the bat looks like it could play.

I think I'm ready for Rafaela to debut in September, and if things go well starting off next year with a super utility role in the majors.
If he hits .230/.270/.370 then that's fine I'm happy to have that player on the team.

I'm thinking that if nobody gets hurt, Rafaela won't be a September callup.

I don't mind that for Yoshida, but Duran looks better to me at CF than LF (though only UZR agrees with me; OAA is neutral and DRS thinks he's been quite bad in CF). And Verdugo for some reason only seems good in RF.

I don't know how close any of the pitches were on the at-bats where Rafaela walked 3 times.. but is it strange that I was almost (if not just as) excited to see 3 BBs on his stat line today than a HR?

If it worked out that way, I'm sure there would be some rotation.
I think Verdugo would say it was his working with Dewey this past spring.

And there's a Rafaela home run. 3 walks and a HR. Just put Story at 2b and him at SS.

The great thing about this kid is that he “hits the ball where it’s pitched” meaning that if it’s outside he’ll drive it to RF like he did in yesterday and today’s games and if it’s inside, he’ll pull it. I’ll take a Starling Marte type of career.

Whooo boy. Rafaela keeps this up for another week or two and its going to get very hard to keep him in Worcester. Even if the team is in the thick of the race.

For me, it was the stolen base. He's not good at pitcher reads. Interesting, didn't realize that.. Certainly would explain how he went from 30 SB in 60 games in Portland, and just 3 in 27 games in Worcester. That's something you can develop over time though, I don't think Duran was all that stellar with pitcher reads throughout his time in the minors (particularly based on what I've heard on game broadcasts, about how much he's improved in that regard).
