Dempster is exactly the kind of pitcher we have needed.
Someone who could grind out innings, keep us in it and give us a chance to win even when he isn't having a good night.

Is it just me, or does Andrew Miller look exactly like Tyson Chandler?

He's not as black but he definitely sucks at baseball as much as Chandler.

Guys, I'm starting to get the impression that Andrew Miller isn't a very good pitcher.

The first four hundred innings didn't sway me, but these last five or six have really sealed it.

Gomesie legs one out. They can boo all they want, they suck. Ten walks by Jay's Pitching.
Hanrahan must deliver here. Go Joel.

I was just thinking about how much fun the Sox have been this season...and then I see that Hanrahan is coming in instead of Bailey. Why? Is Farrell saving Bailey for the 10th inning?

Is Bailey injured?

Hey, speaking of pitchers who aren't good, here's Joel Hanrahan.

So what was the point of using Hanrahan? Did Baily blow off a team meeting or something? Is he hurt?

Hanrahan survives. Great pivot by Pedroia.

That was a FILTHY turn at 2B by Petey. He and Iglesias can turn the DP faster than anyone I've seen

I don't like it, but it worked tonight, which means we get the treat of watching more Hanrahan heart attack saves/chances. Hope Bailey is healthy and ready to take back the job.

Biceps issue with Bailey. So THAT is why Hanrahan was in there. I guess it was a matter of time before Bailey came down with something. Hopefully this is minor. All I can say is that if the Sox can be as good as I'm now beginning to think they can be - the emergence of Alan Webster in the rotation come mid-season and hopefully Rubby De La Rosa in the bullpen (hoping that he improves after his slow start) along with Morales and Breslow returning to replace the ineffective Andrew Miller from the left side - and I would think the Sox would be in pretty strong shape barring any major injuries.

Any pitchers cheating tonight? Now Jack Morris is questioning whether Tazawa is doctoring the baseball. If you are successful without graduating from the Morris school of knowing how to win you must be cheating....proven fact.

Any pitchers cheating tonight? Now Jack Morris is questioning whether Tazawa is doctoring the baseball. It was made perfectly clear in January that the Jays had won the world series, so all these teams who keep beating them must be cheating, there's literally no other explanation.

Any pitchers cheating tonight? Now Jack Morris is questioning whether Tazawa is doctoring the baseball. I read a blurb about that on ESPN. Were they actually serious? They mentioned it in passing in the article and I figured Tazawa was just mocking them.

Tom Verducci also pissed me off last night. Mitch Williams and the crew were talking about Buchholz's left forearm. Shining more brightly than right. Assumed it's something other than rosin and water. To try to prove his point Verducci compares Clay's first 6 starts last year to this year. Now, that's some investigative journalism! Why didn't he compare 2010 to this year? What did he have say about the juiced-up Bronx Bombers as they mashed one homer after another and never let out a peep?

Biceps soreness. Day-to-day (hopefully). Whenever I hear Biceps or forearm soreness or tightness, I always fear TJS is right around the corner.

So looking at video (ie, something that at least somewhat resembles hard evidence) of Buchholz is unfair, but accusing the Yankees of steroid use because dingers would be better?

Kind of a lot of real evidence Bombers were juicing. Clemens, Pettitte, Sheffield, A-Rod, Chuck Knoblauch, Giambi. Do you need more?
