For some reason I'm getting a feeling the sox are going to sign Flaherty who is perhaps the one SP I want them to sign the least. Feel like he's going to get overpaid from one solid season when he frankly hasn't been very good the previous 3-4 seasons. He screams bad contract in the making to me. If the Sox sign a significant free agent starter, I'll guess its Fried. |

A trade for Helsley from the Cardinals would be awesome. 1 more year of control so wouldn't cost a whole lot to acquire and would immediately slot into the closer role while only adding $7ish mil in payroll.

I like Fried, but despite the occasional bouts of wildness I prefer Snell. That guy can be dominant and is a true ace. Of course durability is an issue but it's not like he's DeGrom who constantly breaks down. While Fried would fit, Snell, if not Burnes, woukd be the guy I'd target. |
